Fell into bed this morning at 12.15am, after lodging my last days' steps (22K) and it was very different this morning to be getting up and not putting the pedo onto my shorts for the morning walk.

Looks like we will come second in the AFF team head-to-head :D. Present figures are:

One thing that I did do yesterday was look on the GCC site for the teams with the lowest step count and found many with 0 steps (more than I expected). That is just so surprising, but indicitive of the gung-ho initial attitude of many and when the hard work starts, they fall like swatted flies.

As for the leading team, that is just unbelievable:
Organisation MicroMetl

team-profile-step-avg.png
Step average 54178

One guy from that team, Richard, had these stats:
Step average : 80,681
Personal best : 128,113

another member Angel, wasn't quite as good one the average, but not a shabby PB:

Step average : 77,006
Personal best : 137,318

Ready for a break and think about GCC III (for me) in Feb/March next year.

I felt quite 'naked' today without my little friend clipped onto my hip.

Congrats to all who have completed the challenge this year. I was happy that my step average was higher than last year, and that my results were more consistent than last year. Thanks also to turtlemichael for getting us all organised, and Lindsay for his tact and persistence in herding cats, aka team Status Runners.

Just checking the figures it looks like many of us did very well. The gap between the teams has closed a lot over the last few days but if all the Platinum Oners post it will widen again. I've chased up a couple of people in the last day or two so hopefully everyone will post before the deadline. To all those who have taken the challenge, congratulations and thanks. Ultimately this is an individual thing and you can participate or not. But if it does improve health and well being it is worthwhile. I urge all those who have done it this year, and in the past to join again next year and we also look forward to welcoming more newcomers.

Due to my skiing injury, I didn't do nearly as well as I had hoped. Sorry team!
Yesterday I finally got my sling off and now it's time for some intensive physio to improve the movement in my right arm.
I can recommend the GCC to everyone - it's a great incentive to get moving and improve your health while tracking your progress.

Thanks to everyone.

Had a look at the map of progress after entering in the last of my steps. The Platinum One team has traversed 106 locations, ending up in Washington DC. An interesting journey from Europe down to Africa...looks like we were on our way to do the same in the American continent.
