Just received an email from GCC: GCC 2012 Starter Pack Despatch Confirmation.

Should be at my office on Monday.

E-mail received, Fitbit received the other week so am in pre-training. It's going to be a bit of a slog to get near that 10,000 steps. I'm probably averaging 6,000 a day at the moment....

sjf, how are you finding the Fitbit? Have you tried the sleep monitoring? I've heard some Aussie users have issues logging into the website, but the product itself looks just the ticket.
I've ordered one & looking forward to it arriving - currently have no idea how many steps I'm doing a day, I hope I'm not too shocked when i find out!

One on its way to Cairns too though it will probably take longer than Monday. We'll sort out distribution shortly. Great that they will be well in advance.

Misstam, I'm liking the fitbit. I'm a bit of a stats geek so I love being able to lookup my more active times and see graphs etc of the results. I haven't tried sleeping with it yet but will give it ago sometime over the next week. As far as logging in to the website I've had no issues at all. I've even got it posting a daily result to twitter for further motivation and to ensure I try to get my step count up.

No, the GCC box is sitting on top of the table, the wine is below. No mixed messages, it's red wine which as we all know, is better for you

They really moved their butts this year on the packs distributions! Previous years, you were lucky to get them 1 week before starting.

I usually get about 15 k steps moving teh semiannual annual wood delivery which arrived this weekend!
I'll have to find another way to get them up!

Similar - I had an outside wedding at Mooloolaba on the weekend - walking distance to everything and then a walk along the beach yesterday morning after breakfast at a beachside cafe.

Walked from home to QUT and back this morning, so just because I am not part of the challenge does not mean I have lost the spirit :-|, the fog made it more interesting than normal although the bike riders try hard to kill eachother.

Dang - My walking partner (my dog) has a herniated disc, with the proprioception issues that go with that. He's on doctors orders to rest and recuperate, so looks like I'll be out for walks sans dog for a while

You should see that as an opportunity - can get additional Isometric exercise by carrying Fido ...
