In the early days of gift vouchers being set up as PNR's one indeed had the opportunity to enter a frequent flyer number when buying.

This facilitated bonus point promotions where for example 10 bonus points per $ could be earned.

See this thread from December 2011: Qantas Flight Voucher Promo - earn 10x points [Expired 26DEC11]
😂 I checked the date that thread started. I had just joined and probably had no idea what that topic was all about at the time!

. I have noticed that for the last two DSC promotions the DSC have been very hit and miss when using vouchers. In some cases a few legs get credited with DSC while others don't.
Indeed and I didnt have the will to follow up those that didnt.

What’s the chance that this offer will be extended? I think every offer in the last few years has been extended a week?

I wouldnt bank on an extension, but depending on forward bookings, wouldnt be surprised to see a second DSC offer in about 6 months if Corona virus contnues to impact.

I didnt take laptop home over the weekend and was looking at NZ options, on my tablet multi city wouldnt give me any routing.

Due to almost all my flying (taken and booked) this FF year being classic rewards currently sitting on a lowly 120 SCs, with 80 SCs of booked flights to come (assuming I'll earn 10S Cs on a AY VNO-HEL Y flight)..

Leaves me 400 SCs short of retaining gold, with zero leave days. Contempalting a NZ J flight as a status run, but finding weekend availabity proving tough.

Was wondering if I am likely to be offered the 80K FF to retain gold even though Im not remotely near 600SCs? 80k points can easily be secured by one CC churn and much cheaper than flighst needed to generate the missing SCs this FF year (wending 31st July); and gives me time to be smarter with planning the next years flights to ensure retention.

I wouldn't bank on it. OTOH I expect there will be further inducements for travel during the year - lower bookings are likely to continue for a while longer.

Seeing there was a final reminder email today, I also think this time there won’t be an extension. Would love one though especially if the website is still acting up.

Has anyone managed to book a J trip to New Zealand with a domestic leg here in Oz first to increase the points earn? Say MEL-SYD-AKL or something like that?

I booked CBR-SYD-AKL-BNE-CBR. $1378, 240 SC (480 SC with DSC).

It took a bit of searching to find flights with J to and from CBR and wide body flights to and from AKL. I know the latter wasn’t necessary for SC earn but I didn’t want to pay for J and fly on a 737. 😳

Did you book using the QF Multi-City engine or ?

There was only one extension that I am aware of, and that was last year in Feb.

I do not recall of any other offers being extended. I would not expect it.

One guy asked similar earlier, but does anyone have any suggestions:

- Friday I booked an international return flight (in the promotional period)

- Monday I realised whoops, and registered for the promo.

- Tomorrow I’m booking another international flight

Am I screwed? Its corporate so I can’t cancel and reorder.

Is there any merit to calling up / getting on live chat and playing dumb, I.e. hey, I just want to confirm that all my flights are eligible?

I wouldn’t expect that bookings that were not made in accordance with the T&C to earn DSC, regardless of what the Call Centre will say. I would have suggested cancelling, depending on the cancellation fee, and rebooking. However, you are unable to cancel it seems.

There’s nothing preventing you from phoning the Call Centre but I wouldn’t expect any mercy. Their hands are tied, in relation to your error, anyway.

And welcome to AFF.

Does anyone know when these J class prices to NZ finish? Or are thpse the regular prices? (I've never looked at status runs to NZ before) but am thinking of booking one as a way to bank some SC's towards requal once my new QFF year starts on May 1st

Only by booking each leg individually. Couldn’t get a multi city or multiple stop single booking , just always error messages.

The J fares to New Zealand are not limited-time sale fares, AFAIK.

I am reasonably confident in my understanding of QF fare types and rules . As @justinbrett states above people seem to be getting confused "refund" and "change" fees

Newbie question with Flex Fare do you need to changed Refund / Voucher it before actual travel date or can be after , what happen when you done online check-in for the same date travel but find out that you need to change your flight that afternoon .

Thanks

CBR would work for me, I’d need to use 8k points each way to get from/to SYD in Y
