I have a couple of vouchers which do fit the criteria . I think I will change them to refunds . No idea when travel willbe back on the cards for us

Can you get a refund on vouchers? I thought they were non-refundable.

I had my voucher refunded. Initially thought I would use it, but then changed my mind. Refunded, no fee.

That's helpful to know. I have a bunch of vouchers I'm no longer going to be able to use. I wonder if I can get a refund on them. Did you encounter much resistance?

I would give TSC about a 20% chance as a guestimate. Not out of the question but I would not expect.
If they did TSC and if the domestic borders were reopened by then it would make some status runs very attractive. Would have to seriously consider making the most of such a one-off opportunity if it were to arise.

Currently sitting on a pile of gift vouchers I can’t use. I had expected to do lots of flying that has not eventuated due to COVID.

I didn't realise they were applying DSCs on vouchers!! I had to cancel 16 flights with around 1,200 SCs attached to them as a result of Covid-19. I pushed them hard to get the fares refunded instead of having $$ tied up in vouchers. If they'd told me that they would honour all DSCs I probably would've kept them and used them for trips throughout the rest of the year.

I’m sorry you are disappointed, but there are many pages of discussion here about retaining DSC with credit vouchers. I have one myself but won’t be flying before mid February next year to keep the DSC.

Vouchers purchased during the most recent DSC promotional period will continue to attract the additional status credits, as long as the flights are taken during the promotional travel period, ie before 14 February 2021. This is in line with the way the vouchers worked pre-Covid. However the eligible travel period will not be extended, even though it'll be difficult for most people to fly for the remainder of this year and early next.

I rang Qantas and asked about this, as I had a DSC J ticket to London for later this year which I would have retained as a credit voucher if Qantas had told me the DSC travel period would be extended. But after checking with a manager, the person I spoke to confirmed that the original DSC travel period would not be extended. So I asked for a refund instead. (I was not offered an incentive of status credits either to leave the cancellation as a voucher. Shame, cause I might have taken them up on it, depending on the number of SCs on offer.)

After today's announcement cancelling almost all international flights until end March, it seems that we won't be using this DSC on international flights at least. Cancellation covers the whole travel period. 👎

If it's any consolation, I tried to convert my DSC flights to vouchers and QF screwed up the process and eventually gave me a voucher with a different PNR, losing me my nascent DSCs.

Make sure that you call back and insist on the old voucher being resurrected. It can be done, or, at least it can be done with Award PNR, so I don’t know why revenue would be any different. But do it quickly.

Edited

Way, way too late. It took three months of WTF queries to get any voucher at all from the cancelled booking, by which time the original booking had been 'purged from the system' and resurrection was impossible.

Now I'm thinking how to use my DSC vouchered fare. Will just keep it on standby for some crazy post-covid travel deal.

The two main options would be domestic (subject to evolving border closures) and Tran-Tasman and a small chance for Pacific islands.

If as is reported Qantas is not selling any international flights (I assume Including to NZ and Pacific islands) until March 2021, then currently your only hope is domestic.

Remember it’s your first use that would count as DSC and any unused flight credits will be transferred to a different reference number.

It's a ~$120 Barcaldine - Longreach voucher. If the deals work then best I could do is a multi-city BNe-CNS-SYD if it's worthwhile. In any case without international I will be well short of re-qualification.
