Quick question: A valid Price Promise claim won't make an otherwise eligible booking ineligible for DSC, will it? I don't see anything to suggest it would in either the Price Promise or DSC T&Cs, so I'm hoping there's no hidden catch!

Emails!

I was not getting any confirmation of tegisttayion email after three attempts to register (2 yesteraday afternoon and 1 this morning).

So i changed my address using www.qantas.com to another I use, waited until I received email change notifications for both the old and new accounts and then registered again. Confirmation email received with 90 seconds!

So you have nothing for the next year?
o.O

Yes, I will have travel this year. It is not possible to take that "there will be travel" and lock in where, when and how within the booking period the DSC offer requires.

If the DSCs are important to you, can't you get some GVs?

3 minutes after posting that I get to my "new" email address a message from "Qantas" with the subject "Soar higher with double Status Credits" with a registration link.

Should be no issue. It's not really relevant how much the ticket cost - just that it's in a valid fare earning class on an eligible flight.

Unfortunately that's the deal with the devil of DSC....that you have to book well in advance to get the benefit....

Hi Guys my first post here so excuse me if in wrong area or I make a mistake. I've had last few years as stay at home dad, so have dropped from Platinum One to Lifetime Gold. Later in year have promised to take my family to Santa Land in Lapland, so will probably buy 3 of us J class fares to LHR probably using QF (have used AY through HEL before and that was ok) so my wife gets to keep her Platinum with double status points. I can probably justify a meeting in MIA next month so may as well buy fare now with QF and grab the double status points, so back to Platinum by December trip, with better Lounge access (why can't we use Concord Lounge in LHR anymore?). I can afford to be away maximum of 1 week so will probably buy a RTW J class fare. Other than boring SYD-LHR-MIA-JFK-SYD any ideas or advice? I need 24 hours in LHR and MIA and to max QF flights will fly QF JFK-LAX-SYD. Cost isn't a big issue for business trips but when have to buy 3 J class fares for December holiday, like to save where I can.

Anyone have any thoughts on the cheapest way to pick up either 380 or 480 SC's in total using the DSC promo ex-MEL? (have a 100 SC trip already booked so hence the 380 or 480 options - 480 SC's before the 100 SC trip would mean WP and the F lounge in Sydney on the 100 SC trip)

I've never used a GV, or had any need to, but my brother bought a swag last year and they all worked.

He was buying a bundle at $100 each today.

Wow, really!? So, if you buy GVs during the promotion window (next few days) then redeem in a few months time, that still counts (as long as the travel dates are in the eligible window)??

Hm...it seems too good to be true...
Does the GV generates a PNR and if we make a booking is it the same PNR that is being used?

It’s secret squirrel business. Need to search here. Didn’t try last time as there was a query but it’s always worked for me previously. PNR is generated when you pay for it by the end of Tuesday.

No guarantee, so best not to rely on this method to get the basic SCs you need to get/maintain status, only optional extra SCs. Also, do read up to ensure correct use.
