Going for Gold

We arrived in Canberra on schedule and headed straight for the service desk to see if we might be moved to the earlier Melbourne service. I had checked availability online and it was done in minutes. Seats 2A/C were ours.

A quick visit back to the J lounge for a refreshment and to check out the food (beef something, cous cous, and DIY Caesar salad), then one of the staff remembered me from the previous day and bought over an island dining plate for me to try.

Back to the gate, we spotted our 738 from our SYD-CBR-SYD leg and quickly made ourselves at home. The CSM and FA very quickly decided they liked us a lot, and plied us with plenty of sparkling though out the flight.

I may have been responsible for a few almost-giggles during the post-flight announcement before deplaning. Certainly a good end to a long but fun day.

I only managed to get through a third of this, as the flight was so short.

As we had managed to get an earlier flight there was no AVML meal, so I had the roast chicken above.

And a parting gift from QF:

We were certainly well acquainted with Narooma (VH-VYA) by the end of the day!

Lots of fun was had by all. I am glad the flight crew enjoyed the choccies, and I think the giggling got louder as the day went on.
Thanks blackcat20 for the idea in the first place, and for being such great company - where to next time?

Lastly, good on you Chloe - see you soon. ;)

The HBA-SYD flight is yet to post, and as blackcat20 has stated, SYD-CBR originally posted with 0/0, but now shows a correction (with blackcat20's intervention).

I too just got home from my "Gold" flight.

To think in October I was NB and am now Gold or will be as soon as the SC's post.

It is thanks to this forum and the advice from the members met at AFF socials (you really should go to a social)that I am where I am in a matter of a few months.
OK, the December DSC offer did help - thanks Qantas.

Sorry if I have hijacked your thread but thought this might be an appropriate place to post.

All mine have posted now, just waiting on the DSC and I'll be Gold!

I certainly got the giggles on the last flight; such a fun day! I've certainly got a few ideas about the next trip :D

Congratulations on the great trip review.

I still prefer row 1 with nobody reclining into me and I can get out easily from the Window. Glad that there is plenty of row 2 fans around

I was in row 1 yesterday and apparently even had a shadow. The seat map didn't let Aeolus sit next to me  But she was not so lucky on the return ;)

Have no idea what this has to do with "Going for Gold" but I like row one because I'm short sighted and on the 737 the IFE screen is larger.
So on my way home yesterday had 1A with nobody in 1C :p

DSCs from the flights have posted, except that one of them is for 10 not 40 SCs. Platinum line will investigate and get back to me.
