Thanks for that Joshua.a fine TR.We are doing our first RJ sectors in July and so was looking forward to this part of the TR.Seems there will be no worries.
Did you find out when the new AMM terminal will be functional?

Did you find out when the new AMM terminal will be functional?

No mention of it but it looks like it's been delayed a bit (when are these projects ever on time, unless in China?). Externally it looked close to completion, there's a few good flickr links here: SkyscraperCity - View Single Post - #U/C:. Queen Alia International Airport New Terminal. I am actually unsure what is happening with the old terminals, refurb or destruction. Might be a CBR job of moving half in before knocking it down and finishing it.

I haven't got onto their long-haul product yet Their mid-haul services into Europe seem well up to scratch and J pax are treated well. If you can get a good fare, they are definitely worth it.

Love the TR, just spent an enjoyable time catching up with it as I missed it when first posted last year
The RJ status run sounds like great value if visiting AMM and way more interesting than the few short QF runs here.

Hi Joshua, thanks for the TR, very entertaining !

Wanted to add my 2 cents about Royal Jordaninan, we were very impressed and pleasantly surprised with their J class when we flew HKG - CAI and CAI - DXB last July (got a better fare than their website offered by booking via RJ sydney office.)

A330 service HKG - AMM had electronic leather seats which reclined flat (not horizontal), good selection of English movies and shows on PTV, trolley service for food and beverages and got a gift of Dead Sea bath Salts. Technical stop in BKK (did not have to get off plane) and change of crew. Very lax on people using electronic devices or seat in upright position for takeoff and landing (one passengers son's seat was on full recline and covered in a blanket for our stop in BKK.

E195 service AMM - CAI and CAI - AMM were modern planes and efficient service.

Did love the last bus to board policy (did not get one airbridge.) Curtain to economy was shut when we boarded, giving a much more exclusive feel. Also a separate bus for J passengers on disembarkation.

VERY noticeable Air Marshals on all flights sitting in business class...

Friendly efficient staff (a few "shukran" 's ie thank you go a long way...)

When checking in at AMM airport we did not know about the separate business class check in but when we arrived at the airport people pointed us to the Crown Class check in - I guess they assumed all westeners travel business class ? Separate security screening for women by women. My mum freaked out a little having to be separated from the group.

Would definately recommend anyone using Royal Jordanian.
