The luggage tag is shown prior to the change to black. (A painstaking exercise with a felt tip pen.)

The boarding pass is a result if pressing the DYKWIA button in manage my bookings. (Only available to a select few I believe!) :p

One feature I like about the 734s in Row 5/6 is the good old suit hook on the back of each seat.

Assuming the middle seat is empty, a handy little option IMO!

Unfortunately the seat hooks don't exist further back. The other day I was bumped onto a DJ flight, their tray table catch had a nice little slot in it that held my coat quite nicely.

I was on a 767 2 weeks ago where as we were descending the FA told a pax on the aisle of the middle block that he had to remove his jacket from hanging on the tray table hook. Why would they do this? I found it rather odd.

OT; Tony, l still prefer the old bag tags (much more durable). The elastic in these new ones just doesn't seem to be able to withstand very much at all

So just after I wrote my post I flew ADL to SYD on a dreaded 767. I remember the CSM, a delightful older woman who always seems to do this route. I was in 4C, she saw my take off my jacket, and offered to hang it up for me without me asking.

I've flown maybe 10 domestic flights in row 4 this year and maybe another 10 in row 5-6, all with my jacket/coat on and have never had an offer to hang it up
But then again if I was asked I would probably decline :o

I've had pretty much the same experience for my weekday flying. I try not to travel with a jacket and mostly leave it in my office. On weekends the offer has been made and accept in row 4 both times.

OK, here's my gripe with the whole "jacket hanging" thing - why do they give you back your jacket before landing (and often 15 to 20 minutes before)??

I would much prefer that either:
a) the jacket was returned after landing (while the aircraft is taxiing to the terminal would be fine)
or
b) the FA at the door has the jacket ready for you there, so you collected it as you got off the aircraft.

Because

A) they have to sit down while taxiing and only get up once at the gate where they have to do things like disarm doors. The pax are released while the FAs are busy, and

B) they only know who owns the jacket by your seat number on the BP in the pocket. Handing out at the door is subject to misplaced jacket. I'm sure some people like to put on their jacket before exiting the aircraft. Early distribution allows them to do so.

On a recent V Australia (international) flight, the FAs returned the jackets after we had landed (in the couple of minutes after we had arrived at the terminal but before the door was opened).

Much better way of doing it.

but also against regulations that cabin crew have moved from their doors (that are in the armed position) during taxi for non safety related duties!!! its a serious breach of regulations! there pages and pages of rules/regulations that cabin crew must adhere to onboard (and off) an aircraft... there are many reasons why crew cant do alot of things that to some of us on here may seem trivial or 'easy to do'!!

Resurrecting this thread because in the last week I've had to take 2 737s SYD-MEL and MEL-SYD and the CSMs on both flights refused my polite request to hang up my jack on the first sector, and my single suit garment bag on the second stating "We don't have the facility to do that on this aircraft." I really dislike being lied to by FAs.

This happened once on a SYD-HBA flight, and other pax ended up placing their luggage on my garment bag and broke it. I sent an email to QF who responded that the CSM's actions would be addressed, as the aircrafts do have cupboards. I appreciate I am traveling Y, and would be happy if they told me they weren't sure if they had space once they hung up all the J class jackets, but to simply lie to me when I'm one of the first pax to board annoys me.

I think I have to learn how to fold or roll my suit jackets! I generally fly 767s and in 23A/B I'm generally able to hang my own jacket or single suit pack up.
