ah, again the need for a "double like" button

(LOL but it does sound like nearly every man and his dog has done it already :) )

Has anyone had any success with doing a mixed Y/J mASA booking on the one PNR? I'm currently on hold and have been for the last half an hour - I'm wanting to fly a mASA TMW-SYD in Y (no J on the Q400 planes) and then SYD-JNB on QF63 in J. There is X class available on the TMW-SYD flight and U on the SYD-JNB flight. However, the agent is telling me that she can't get the system to accept the booking at all.

Is it possible?

Just to update this, they're now saying that it's not possible to have a mixed-class any seat award.

However, when I'm trying to book the U seat on QF63 SYD-JNB, it won't price. They can see the availablility of U, they can see that it's available as a classic award, but claim that the ASA fare hasn't been loaded in the system.

They've sent it off to helpdesk and put a hold on the U seat until Tuesday for me.

Is there anything more I should be doing from this end?

I never saw online a mASA of mixed class ... my pet ex AKL searched restrained travel because of this to the J cabin at best, at worst the Y cabin. Could not book PE or F.

Not sure if I'm misunderstanding, but I've booked (for example) HKG-SYD in F and SYD-ADL in J on the same PNR.

Apologies I mixed up- you could never book First or PE out of AKL as a mASA as the Trans-tasman leg could only be business or economy.

So is the key perhaps that you can go down but not up? Meaning you can (say) connect from F to J, but not vice versa?

Like ketsuzei, I had booked on the same PNR a mixed-class booking:

SYD MEL (J)
MEL LAX (F)

So, it is possible.

Not sure the relevance to SYD JNB though ????

There are a few mixed class bookings on the spreadsheet, going both up and down in class. Perhaps HUACA, or contact one of the members with the mixed class bookings and ask them how they did it.

Regarding the mixed class thing- just a gut feeling but I think this might be an issue as it's a Q-Link flight.
Regarding the lack of a JASA on SYD-JNB- back in the day it was unusual but not unheard of that a Classic Award was available but a JASA at Classic levels couldn't be seen or booked online. I know that since the online removal there haven't really been any reports of this happening but I wonder if this might be one of the first.

BTW - my comments refer to back when mASA could be booked online.

I have no experience with the call up (back mid year I slammed my points balance with a series of JASA before they went offline).

Well Serfty I called and did a mASA this week to get to Sweaty Brisbane in January. It wasn't really cheap at 100,000 points and about $189 cost for a there and back meeting. Now I booked it to make sure I get to 2,400 plus SCs this year.
I don't generally go to high humidity places in summer but sometimes business has to be done.

WOW that seems excessively high ?????

I guess the real cost of this ASA is about $700 so it probably is a bargain seeing it could have been a lot of real money.

Hello all,

Can anyone give me a ballpark figure of points and cash (JASA) for the following routes (I have looked at Jessicas spreadsheet):

Brisbane - LA - Brisbane
Brisbane - DFW - Brisbane
Brisbane - New York - Brisbane

Thanks!

I would guestimate a similar level to SYD-LAX/DFW/JFK
