Heads up about program changes

Not sure I will make Platinum + Partner Gold but should make Platinum easily.
If I fly the same flights/codes this year as last year (and keep crediting to QF), I'll go from 2480 SC to 1880.

I will drop as well. A lot of my flying is unnecessary flying and I welcome the changes as I can save some money.

Not much we can do about it now. If we want maintain the status we desire then we need to be more creative. I can see some people have already identified earning status easier on other Oneworld programs. These types of challenges bring out the best in people.

I think many QFFers are change weary, and not for the better. But I'm sure Lesley in all her wisdom knows this, it says on the QF web site and I quote "Lesley drives the evolution and growth of Qantas Loyalty".

Is that drives it up, or drives it down?

Matt

Drives it into the ground. But she does put on nice lunches.

Seeing this new earning table is so simple (cough). Qantas really needs to scrap their current calculator and redesign it.
If BA can have a pretty good one (it covers all airlines), surely QF can too : British Airways - Collecting Avios

So I posted this question on twitter and received the response below

@QantasAirways when will the Earning Points Calculator for travel on or from 1 July 2014 include multicity options? Currently it's woeful.

Qantas Airways

Hi, Perhaps this calculator may assist: bit.ly/1i6us1q. Rach

That appears to be a help file, not a calculator :(

I could be wrong, but it doesn't work on my MBP.

I've been seeing other things like that as well with the QF social media team directing people to look at the thing/s that the comment is complaining about.

The chart/calculator is confusing/doesn't work.
Have a look at this chart/calculator.

Is the team actually reading peoples posts, or just seeing a key word and copy/pasting any sort of reply?

I'm under the impression that the people posting on the Qantas FB and twitter are the same people who post as 'Red Roo'... :/

Well, I feel a bit stupid... Took me half a minute of clicking around the screen, thinking "stupid thing, why don't the drop-downs work..." until I realised it was a screen shot of the old calculator...

Their social media team are usually very quick and very helpful. I put this down to being overworked. The reply came in after what I consider to be normal working hours.

I did the same on my phone...

.....The other thing, the CEO of Qantas Loyalty responsible for implementing this is a she....

Yes, the QF Lesley may well be a female. However, it also can be the name of a male or a female. Something like Shirley, where in the USA, can be a male name. Not common, but it happens.

There can be some confusion as to fe/male, with such names. And the spelling is not necessarily an indication of the gender.
