Hey Qantas, why is it that ....?

Wow, can't believe the comments that the food in domestic economy is better the international J. The new small plates concept is fantastic.

as for the express breakfast on red eyes from Asia, again a great idea, nothing worse than the clunk of trolleys and dishes 2 hours before landing after only5 or 6 hours in the air, I think QF has the balance right.

Can't agree with you at all there!

It's ****.

If I want a mangy ham&cheese croissant - I can get better from McDonald's in the terminal.

If I'm in J - then I want breakfast. Or at least give me the option and then I can choose.

The issue with not enough sleep isn't the breakfast serving (which you can sleep through if you like - try the eyeshade and earplugs).

The issue was the dinner on takeoff service takes twice as long because they bring it out in separate servings with this "small plate" concept.

It's cough, and in speaking with a few FAs socially (outside of flying), they indicate many pax are unhappy with it. The ham&cheese croissant being a regular comment.

So clearly - people like you (who are entitled to their own opinion) are probably having their comments weighted too heavily against actual pax views.

IMHO.

Nothing wrong with offering the choice.

But the current offering is unbecoming of J service.

Read again. I said domestic business not economy!

Preference wise the bangers and mash I just had on my BNE-SYD was vastly preferable to the offerings on QF52 last night. Not to mention I would have liked an entree course last night. I also would have like a pre dinner drink.
I had at least 2 pre dinner drinks, and one that was sent to some PS passenger in Y. Perhaps upstairs was too far away for the FA? ;)
i appreciate you are a P1 and your feedback is important to qantas... but i hope they're not placing too great a weight on feedback from customers such as yourself.

the concept of an express breakfast is not for everyone.

if they want to have a sleeper service they could introduce that by dividing the business cabin with a curtain like virgin Atlantic, or introduce a dinner or breakfast service similar to SQ (meals served quietly in a dark cabin, those who wish to sleep do so).

as for the clunk of trolleys and dishes... there is absolutely no excuse for this. it's just bad flight attendant attitude. you can make as much or as little noise as you want, the thoughtful ones will be quiet.
I chatted to the FA in J on QF52 yesterday about this. Apparently the cafe breakfast was introduced after considerable passenger research. I suggested that they had asked the wrong passengers. The FA will be passing on my feedback.

Why is it that an I-phone mobile check in does not recognise that my account number, PIN and mobile phone are numbers, and offer me the easier to use numbers only keypad instead of the full keyboard. (Virgin seem to be able to!)

Why is it that...
The vego food offered by Q has not changed in 2 years. I am sick of roast vegetable sandwiches for lunch and rice, chickpea and lentils for dinner.

2 YEARS!

Hey Qantas, why is it that you think that soggy potato pizza is a welcome food item. Even since QF introduced the pizza in a box snack I have added a new experience to my travelling life. For the first time ever I now get off long haul QF flights feeling hungry.

+1!!!! I was STARVING after my SYD-BKK flight. I took snacks on the return leg as a solution. Ridiculous.

Good point. Who ever thought potatoes would go well on a pizza anyway? Even pumpkin would be better.

People only eat it because its there - because they're hungry and/or relieve boredom. Get rid of it!

Why is it that... I get given an aisle seat on a Dash 8 after selecting Window as my preference (you can't actually preselect a seat) - even though the plane is half full?

It astounds me how much people eat on the plane/ in the lounge! I find by the end of the journey I'm well stuffed!

Potato.On.Pizza. . . . does not compute!
Awful, awful, awful - can you at least put some thought into what you're serving to the masses???? Slightly OT: is this yet another NP inspired meal?!

Whoever approved the potato pizza should be named & shamed.
That sort of offering I would expect from a low cost fast food outlet, but even then who would ever buy it?

I've seen it before. Both in normal and sweet potato variants ... And this is from some fairly high end pizza places.

It will be chosen as something that is suitable (maybe not edible or enjoyed!) for serving to most passengers on the plane. It may even be gluten free.

I second that, particularly in terms of international business class breakfast between Asia and Australia. I really struggle to understand how anyone (a beancounter?) could think that it is OK to offer a miserable breakfast service on the Asis-Australia flights
a) to save money, and/or
b) just because some passengers prefer to maximise their sleep?

I understand that some passengers prefer to maximise sleep, but the miserable mini-breakfast does not save much time anyway and there are eyemasks and earplugs invented for those that do not want to see light / hear things around them.

Consequence for me: I now book my Asia-Australia flights on Singapore or Cathay because they still offer a real breakfast on their overnight flights.

I skipped dinner the night before to get some sleep and woke just as the ham and cheese croissant was served. It was amazingly delicious. Crispy croissant and loads of tasty cheese and ham.

Aren't the Irish known for their love of potatoes
