HHonors Gold/Diamond for Velocity Gold/Plat

I had this trouble when we used Amex Travel as the provider. They could never get the HHonors # into the booking :!:

Was there any outcome to determining how long the comp membership was ?
I'm trying to work out do I take up the Hilton status upgrade via Velocity 'now' or closer to my first upcoming stay.
I'm currently Silver with Hilton as I use them every now and again. And I notice I seem to get longer than 1 year as standard.

It is one of those best kept secrets on AFF.

I believe for now it is March 2013 and in theory if you wait until April before applying then you should have it until March 2014.

I applied 1st week of January ( was Gold at that time with expiry of Jan 2013) and have Diamond until 3/2014

what i meant was there's an upgrade to either hilton or intercontinental.. of course HH is hilton honors

I've just ended up using the Visa infinity trick ... which worked a charm as well.

I applied for HHonors Diamond on 1 March and today my account is showing Diamond.
Now to wait for my card and hope it is valid until 2014.

Still waiting for my match I applied on the 25 Feb but wasn't already a HH member so probably takes a little longer. Soon as confirmed I'm booking a few stays so it works out for Hilton.

Anyone know how long it takes HH to get in touch with you once you've requested through Velocity? I want to book a London Hilton in a couple of weeks, but should probably wait until my Gold comes through?

It took about 6 weeks to get my Diamond membership card.

I thought it might have come in a nice pack or something.

SPG Gold expired and they wouldn't match me for the coming year.

Result - HH wins big with the status match, and SPG loses my business.

Shame for SPG really as I do enjoy my Westin stays when in the US.

I would have had 3 bookings with SPG in the last week alone - but luckily HH have properties all nearby so happy to try them out and enjoy the Diamond benefits.

Have 8 nights in 3 stays booked over next 3 weeks.

Normally share the love, but used to do Westin a fair bit until I got bed bug bitten.....they claimed I must have been mistaken as they checked the room......I showed them my arm.... And they still didn't believe me.....

So let's see how I get treated as a cubic zirconia!! (not a real diamond
