 How does that work? I thought Hilton redemptions were all in set 'bands' for different properties e.g. 40K, 50K etc, with 50K being the top level (L7 I think?) - the odd exception aside. That above reads a bit like QF ASAs with the 'price' rising to crazy levels the closer you get to the date.
It's new for this year ... they are referred to as 'PREMIUM ROOM REWARD's.

I think if you are a gold or diamond better use of point would be to book cheapest and hope for the best !

For me, absolutely! Wouldn't book a room I wasn't prepared to sleep in and typically do book the cheapest that meets my requirements (which usually is the cheapest room available). I'm diamond and think I am 100% on at least some sort of upgrade (even if it just a higher floor when booking a twin room), but zero for suites.

lol yep sydney parking prices are a bit crazzzyyy. May park in an area near the hilton.

Valet at Sydney is so well done. I trained it from the airport but just look at that valet area.....their own private laneway in the centre of one of the worlds iconic cities. That in itself is worth the $56.

Other alternative is to inquire about whether they offer a limo transfer. Ask Mella about this but I'm sure she's said previously that a limo transfer was not over the top price wise and was booked to your account so more base points (depends whether you are chasing a status renewal on base points, but for me, I'm going to use this where ever I can).

Except the issues with getting into it - you have to enter from Pitt St, which is one way. And as you drive out onto George Street, if you want to legally head west on the ANZAC Bridge, you'll have to turn left and then do a loop around Bathurst/Pitt/Druitt Streets. Most taxi drivers seem to break the law and turn right onto George Street, across double lines.

Hey beardoc, you're the one who chooses to live in Sydney.........I just hang a "Bloody Tourist" sign in the back and they all understand (even give me a wide berth, which by the way is near impossible on that goat track you lot call the Princes Hwy through Pymble)!

Your GPS needs life support : it's the Pacific Highway ;)

But you get HH points for the parking!
