Wonderful news Bomi18.

Qantas are loathe to allow something outside the T&C's as that would create a dangerous precedent for the future. Red Roo and I spoke about that conundrum in our recent telephone call.

Then as others have stated, there's the issue of getting 5 upgrades on a single flight, or award seats...

given about 3 weeks have gone by, i wondered if there was an update as to how the circumstance is going - i note on the mycause, donations have topped $28,400 so thats quite the effort! my thoughts and prayers are with this family...

Hi all, I wont say to much but the family is freezing but loving being back in Canada.

Thanks again for all the support! :)

Thanks and yea, thats appreciated i think we were all touched by the circumstances so an every now and then short update is prudent. Our thoughts and prayers go to the family..

Thanks to some great detective work by Jimmy124, a Facebook Page has been found for Jennifer. I have contacted the OP (Bomi18) who agrees with it being shared here.

Some great recent news - see Jennifers' post on 12 February.

Have I told everyone recently how much I hate cancer :evil::evil: - and love the field of oncology :D:D:D

Time to go and give another donation...and toast Jennifer tonight with a red wine (I couldn't think of anything more fitting ;))

I've applied to join the group, given my interest in cancer and keeping this story current

That is sensational news :) :) :)

Without wanting to do a full review of Jennifer's position, this is her latest update which should give a good idea of the recent gains.

I'm happy to post the updates [or anybody that sees an update can post - don't wait for me], for those without FB access - .

Scott and I are proud to announce that my scans showed remission by half or More of all my tumours! My brain tumour was 1.3cm and is now less than 5mm. My chest node has been eradicated. So we are going to do 3 more cycles (6 more chemos) and hope for another good response. Thank you to everyone who have supported us in this journey I can't wait to do even better next time

Now that last line is what I love the most - a positive mental attitude to whatever life throws at us.

Wow. Just read this entire thread... Big boys don't cry but it had me pretty close, a very touching story.

Amazing how everyone pulled together, and the best part of the whole thing is the most recent update.

Sad news. But then she has had 6 months with her family and obviously some amazing friends.

I've already shared with Red Roo and the anonymous AFF'er who assisted with United Airlines on the outbound flights.

We stand ready to help Scott and the boys on the return.

Only just caught up with this thread. What a wonderful community response. I lost my mother to stage 4 breast cancer in February, but she had had a full life and seen her children and grandchildren grow up. So sad to see a mother taken from her young family.

For those that may not have the access, here are some photos for us to contemplate life and all its meaning. There are going to be some tough times for Scott and the boys - as it reminds me of my client in Adelaide who died aged 38 leaving her husband and son.

Be at peace Jennifer. You fought against a foe so vile. We will do what we can to assist them

Whoops, the photos:

I hate goodbyes. Until we meet again Jennifer

Just caught up about this. So sad, but we should also see the happy side to this, how a community bonded together to make a families last time together a nice time.

This, this is why I love AFF, how we all bond together over our love for flying and for gaming the system and then help out others when in need.
