You need to have a hotel stay in mind if buying the points
Absolutely! But if it was a hypothetical choice between IHG and HH?

In the IHG thread, a member has the IHG CC with 4th night free. With 100% bonus, it’s possibly compelling proposition. Especially when closer to 1 AUD = 1 USD! (Please…).

Slightly OT, I was pondering transferring some e-Rewards points to IHG for a redemption when I realised the HH transfer seemed far more favourable.

As a data point 7500 e-Rewards pts convert to A$25 vouchers with select providers eg Apple, JB HiFi (compared with 6000 pts -> 2000 VA, 8000 -> 2000 UA amongst others).

For Hotels, 8000 pts -> 7000 HH v 10,000 pts -> 4000 IHG (Accor transfers are comparable with 2000 ALL Accor pts = €40).

For HH, that seems significantly better value?

*Note: the e-rewards figures above are the max amount transferable in one transaction. Alas, there’s a limit of something like 4 or 6 wks between transfers. I have at anyone time 20k - 40k e-rewards points that are otherwise handy for stopping many programs points from expiring.

Interesting. I use erewads to maintain accounts more than see them as an opportunity to buy flights or stays

I had no problem registering - using my Citibank Mastercard; definitely an Australian account and issued card.
Interesting. That’ the card I tried! Will try again. Thanks bussyboy

I'm splitting up a multi-room three day stay to use the Ame offer expiring tomorrow. Seems like separate reservations on consecutive nights is one "stay" even if you check out, then check in again. Nevermind about the points, but would that count towards "nights"?
