I have 5 stays booked between that eligible period. So in theory I would get 25,000 bonus points paying via Visa?

Is a bit of pain to cancel and rebook and I wouldn't get the 2pts/$1 on my amex for accommodation spend.

I have a mastercard credit card on file but used a Visa debit card for the hold when checking in and received the 5000pts bonus. I had hoped that as long as the card used the Visa network it would work. Also remember with Hilton as long as you sign up for an offer before checking out you receive the bonus. I have a feeling signing up after checkout but before the stay posts may even get you the bonus.

I received the bonus on a booking made before signing up. The only bookings I canceled and rebooked are the ones that where not made using the app.

Are you saying that you ended up paying the account with the MasterCard? If so, that would appear to be a possible method of still gaining the 2xairline points through AMEX.

Looking forward to hear how this all works out - I have a DT stay in December and one more Amex statement credit to use, so I will be paying with Amex, but 5k bonus points would be nice

I didnt pay with the mastercard credit card that was on file but on checkin swapped the room hold to go on my partners visa debit card using the credit button. To make things confusing I always pay with cash on checkout to save the 1.5%.
