I'll be HLO and many years since I’ve been to HKG - can’t recall the procedure . I’m guessing ( hoping) that I won’t have to wait for QF 128 check-in to open to enter the terminal? But probably will for lounge entry?

I’m departing on CX and planning to use the in-town checkin to check in and drop my bag many hours in advance. Not sure if this is back up and running yet for Qantas?

It was a landing like no other. During the sharp right turn on final approach into Hong Kong's original Kai Tak Airport, you could literally see people's laundry drying out the window of your Boeing 747. Kai Tak Airport closed in 1998, replaced by the more modern and much larger Chek Lap Kok...

It's a cool piece of aviation history and you have some good views from there. A moderate level of fitness is required (shouldn't be an issue for anyone here).

I have done lots of things at HKG, but not this - So may plan to have a go on Saturday.

@RooFlyer is your question because you want a BP issued, rather than OLCI and print one / use your phone? Or is the query whether the OLCI will let you through? (e.g., when I fly out of TBS recently it was not allowed, for the airline I flew, anyway)

I have a booking this Thursday in Award Business (I):

SQ208 - MEL 18:25 - SIN 00:15+1, SQ898 SIN 19:00 - HKG 22:45.

MEL has be 0'd out for a week.

A call came in from Singapore Airlines offering a day later:

SQ238 - MEL 09:05 - SIN 15:15 in "First", connecting to the same HKG flight.

I don't really like morning flights like that, but the "First" swung the deal. (I did check, it was showing F2 before and F1 after)

No, the question was very muddled. What I’d like to know is if I’m HLO and check in online, can I enter the terminal at any time before the flight? Or will I have to go to check in and show Passport?

Yes you can enter any time b4 flight.
When I was here after Xmas, did OLCI, was HLO and was in the Deck Lounge by 1pm
