When planning an event like this, the best bet is to choose a date and go with it, instead of basing it off who is and isn't available. As it stands, I'm likely to be unable from the 13th to 19th August, but if the dates work for me, I'll try attend. Dependent on dates, I could even bring my mother.

I have cast my vote. Looks as though it will likely be in August which unfortunately means I won't make it. I'll keep an eye on the thread and maybe the dates will work out for me.

Votes are in August is a go.
I propose Saturday August 18th and overflow morning Sunday 19th August.
I will get transport quotes this week, and confirm the details of the tour itinerary. It is at the end of whisky week so there is a whiskey event on the Saturday that may be of interest, but it is $99 a head in itself. I feel a tour similar to what I proposed earlier would be best, but happy to accommodate. Link to Saturday whisky event Tasmanian Spirits Showcase – Tasmanian Whisky Week 2018 – 13 – 19 August

RooFlyer has been selling us on Tassie all weekend, so I think we are looking like GOLD for this event

I'll volunteer to be bus driver if you need one
Am looking at a couple of options that would include a driver, but if we need to just hire a vehicle or two then I will accept your kind offer. Thanks

Sounds like it will be fun, but unfortunately we can't make August.
I will look forward to seeing some photos and reading about it.

Going to be tight for me... with Frankie away I am looking after the dogs, then my mother arrives into the country on the 17th but is attending a conference in Adelaide. I was intending to join her to do some last minute recon for AFF#12, but I will need to talk to her about making a pitstop in Tasmania on the way to the Gold Coast. So I'm a possibility for Sunday at this stage, but I'll need to look at flight options.

Any updates?

August 18, or?

Still interested. We haven’t been to Tassie for 39 years, and have been meaning to get back for .... 38 years!

I booked my flight to Hobart on the Friday night; going for a run Saturday morning, so hopefully something gets organized.
Depends on timing on what is organized I then book the flight back.

Definitely in the process, i have just today secured a 13 seat vehicle and experienced tour driver, Cost was $370 for 5 hours and can be extended as needed for $60p/h. Seems great, will sort a bank account for payments and a final price soon, but most tastings are free and major costs are lunch and bus. at this rate transport will be about $30 give or take depending on numbers.

Hi all, new to the threads and posting but would be interested in catching up in Hobart, think I will be down that way around the dates proposed. Any more details to be given as yet?

Just thought I would also bump the thread,
When it comes to dinner in a city you can usually do that only a few weeks out as most of the attendees don't need to book flights or accommodation, for a place like Hobart then travel and accommodation is required and well Hobart doesn't have any major chains hotels like Hilton or IHG to burn the points.
Also my credit card has rolled over to a new month. ;)
