Heard this morning that no baggage was loaded onto a flight last Thursday from. Sydney into Adelaide. Four days later and there has been no contact from Qantas, phone won't answer, airport just says they will tell them when it arrives. Emails unanswered.

Had an update to this - apparently it was 3 flights ex SYD and MEL (and that's just to ADL so who knows how many others).

Interestingly QF had their own staff (local management included) trying to assist.

Unsurprisingly it was much to the delight of the arrival port ramp staff that there was no work to do... and on the contrary I suspect it was not particularly pleasant for QF staff within the terminal.

Easter Monday Hobart Airport is expecting its fifth busiest day ever.

Why would that surprise?

Australia's total population rises every year (although Greater Sydney and G. Melbourne both dropped in 2021).

Tasmania's population has risen in the last few years (albeit still a very low base).

So if the propensity of locals (and visitors, bearing in mind Tassie relies more on domestic than international tourists) remains similar to use air travel, then records should continue to be broken if the airlines are willing or able to provide increased capacity.
