We had a site visit and got to explore the house and confirm the electrical stuff. I remembered to wear flat shoes, but forgot about the ladder to reach the second floor, but I had a long dress on so all good! 😳

The tradies on site were offloading the sheets for the walls and I believe the next two weeks will be walls going up :)

Imagine this wall covered in books from floor to ceiling. That's the plan :D

Looking good! Love the idea of a wall of books and butlers pantry, going to need a cat run as well? :)

I explained it to the site coordinator and he asked "Have you ever been behind the scenes at the NLA?" Haha. Turns out his Dad used to work there.
I'd like to get a cat run of some description at some point - but it'll be a while yet before we look at adopting pet/s again. There's a few more Big Trips I'd like to do and I think it would be better to wait til after those before we look at pets, to avoid sending them for prolonged stays at boarding kennels/catteries. But we'll see... :)

This was taken 6 years ago so it's definitely not as tidy anymore (plus it was also where Earl's cat scratcher/climber was) but it'll give you an idea of my collection. I won't be able to fill the new wall completely when we move, but it will look impressive, with plenty of space for more! :D

What kind of books fill your library? It looks like some good historical and fiction material?

Mostly fantasy fiction. Including Harry Potter as blackcat20 pointed out. One bookcase is devoted to Australian authors. I've met quite a few (both Aussie and not) so lots of books are signed too which is nice.

The house is looking great and that looks like a park opposite? And a nice view of I am guessing Cooleman Ridge up the back? Used to walk there regularly when we lived in Duffy and then Weston.
Once the gyprock starts it will look way different.
Had to smile about the ladder. Not sure I could have climbed it. :)

A bit more has happened. We're going inside again tomorrow because apparently the kitchen is done. I think maybe only some has been done, no way did they work that quickly. Surely.

Walls and ceilings are up. Doors are hung, stairs are in and more render has been done out the front. Garage door is on too, but someone was still working when we went past so door was open.

This visit was mostly to check that the tiles we selected were the ones that had arrived. Thankfully yes, they were.

I was right that it wasn't done, but gee it's looking more like a kitchen already! The stairs look pretty neat, much easier than that ladder!

I didn't take too many photos, there was stuff everywhere. I think next step is tiling now, as well as installing the bathroom vanities.

The front door is huge! :O
