Well that does bring back memories ... such as in the early 80's from the pub veranda watching the dawn break on the surrounding hills ... Different licencing laws back then ... Not sure what my footware was back then ... :p

No upgrade as told property was full. Not given access to EL either but after talking with Manager has agreed to give access from night 3. Did receive welcome note and water.

This place is very average. Can't get hot water, pool area is lousy and hotel is showing its age. Won't be back here in a hurry, in fact if they can't sort the hot water out will be checking out early.

Upgraded to Exec room.
Exec lounge was great as always. Enjoyed the prawns, pea soup, sushi and dumplings. Wasn't overly impressed with the Sav Blanc on offer.

Breakfast in Glass was excellent. I wasn't fussed about the coffee charge - just had a coffee in the Exec lounge.

The first stay there was only one bottle of water, second stay there were two.
187ml bottle of McGuigan Merlot for each stay.
If you have extra guests, reception sells pre-paid breakfast vouchers for $29 (I wouldn't have known, but I saw them on the counter when I was checking in).
Points were not credited (my account says it was a non-qualifying stay) for my first night so I have submitted a 'missing stay' request online. It is this night that will re-qualify me for Diamond next year :).

I can't tell you the last time I received a welcome note or water, actually no 'love' other than the Diamond 'upgrade' to a better room and breakfast. Doesn't worry me but I do wonder why they suddenly stopped.

Allowed to check in at 8am after arriving from BKK, maybe booking a pickup from airport helped that, maybe not.

On return to the room after being out for the day found a bottle of Chilean Merlot and a box of handmade chocolates in the room.

Comfortable room on 18th floor. Two waters on arrival, no welcome letter nor anything else. Breakfast in the lounge each morning was good (no hot food but good quality cold ingredients) and relatively peaceful compared with the evening drinks when there seemed to be a lot of kids and adults who'd had a "good" day at the cricket. Food and drinks were fine but the place was crowded. I like the hotel and the staff. Had room service snack Christmas night (wasn't up to pay $170.00 pp for the buffet) and that was speedy and good quality. Internet access with daily code worked with good speed. All up a pleasant stay made even more pleasant by days across the road at the MCG.

I believe you are able to have breakfast in the dining room downstairs, where cook to order is available.

Hilton reforma mexico city
Status: Diamond
Booked: base room.
Given: Top floor Exec room.

Was upgraded before my stay and advised to check in at executive lounge.
Welcome amenity was a choice of three options (truffles, something else or tequila and nuts. Also given a letter explaining things about the hotel.

Chose the tequila.

Exec lounge has happy hour 6-8, decent range of alcohol available, with some paid upgrades to premium spirits. Food changed nightly, but was one warm option (mini burgers, Mexican snacks etc), along with salads and various dips etc. Lounge was very busy at times. They seem to rate limit alcohol too.
Breakfast was a simple affair with an egg dish and something else hot available each day.

You have to sign a zero receipt before leaving the lounge. Plus tipping is expected.

I enjoyed my stay there a few months ago as well.
Service was superb & the lounge was fortunately very quite with such divine views. :D

HOTP. Yes, I should have said we were advised that on check-in. We were satisfied with the lounge for breakfast even without hot things. In fact, one morning I noticed a long queue for the restaurant downstairs as there seemed to be some people who weren't residents having breakfast before going over to the MCG. The hotel was also totally full in my first couple of days there.

I have had the same experience with nil hot water at CNS Hilton during one stay earlier this year & also once in 2012. Front Desk confirmed they knew about the ongoing issue with the hot water system; no apology offered let alone any compensation. Such a shame... as HH Diamond I would like to stay there more often, but this lack of care sees me stay at the hotel apartment complex across the road if the rates are more favourable (they often are!).

All as gold. Booked cheapest base room each time:

Hilton Surfers Paradise: upgraded to king executive. 3 x beers in room. 2 x water daily at turndown (were not in the room prior to that). late checkout 2pm. breakfast in lounge only or at Salt for $10pp surcharge for hot breakfast.

Hilton London Tower Bridge: upgraded to executive room. small bottle red wine, box of 2 chocolates, 2 bottles of water in room. also allowed to checkin at 06.30am at no extra charge. I only ate breakfast in the lounge but there was scrambled eggs and bacon available there.

Doubletree Manchester Piccadilly: upgraded to queen executive room. This hotel has no lounge but exec room has free minibar replenished daily with 2 x water, 2 x beer, 2 x white wine, 4 x coke, 2 x ginger ale, 2 x cadbury chocs, 2 x packets of crisps. full buffet breakfast. Exec room is on the corner and quite spacious. Great location to Piccadilly station.

Hilton York : upgraded to deluxe room with view. website said there would be wine in room but there wasnt. had to ask for the 2 x bottles of water. this was the most disappointing of my UK hotel visits. Full breakfast included in the restaurant.

Hilton Prague Old Town: upgraded to King Executive on top floor. room is very nice and one of the better Hilton's I've stayed at in Europe. Full breakfast available in restaurant at no charge or can use exec lounge. In room was fruit plate, bowl of peanuts, 2 bottles of water and one additional free 1.5 litre bottle of water. Late checkout given to 3pm. Also allowed me to remain in exec lounge after checkout to wait for a flight.

Overall a good round of stays as a gold. Always upgraded to exec where available. I have one more stay coming up at Hilton Cairns... I am not hopeful based on the above reports!

Checkin (in fact, all interactions with staff) pleasant and professional. Got two printed sheets at checkin, one explaining exec benefits, the other must have been a welcome from a manager I think. Comp water (x2) in room and a comp half-bottle (375ml) of St Hallett Faith shiraz in the room (nice too). Comp internet (I had to 'sign up' but the cost had been deducted from the bill at checkout). Comp breakfast at Glass (though a large queue to get in) - they mixed up mine and my dining partner's omelettes, but this was the only fault I could find with my stay.

Noticed when still at breakfast at 1050 that checkout was due in 10 minutes. Visited front desk and upon request was promptly and cheerfully offered (and took) a 1300 checkout. Happy with this property (so far).

I was there as well on Dec 21. Easy check in, I was offered late check out at check in. Checked out at EL. No queues at breakfast, otherwise, exactly same experience as yours. Rate $239

Consistent with every previous stay at this Hotel, I booked a base room and was upgraded to the Relaxtion Suite. Yes, the property is a little tired, but the rooms (the suites at least) have had a bathroom Reno and I find them quite comfortable. Lounge has a great view of the MCG....food and beverage is standard fare.

My preference is always HSW in Melbourne, but when the rates aren't favourable at HSW, I'm happy to stay at HOTP. But god it's an awful looking building!

Cheapest of the Hilton brands on NYE.

No access to the Conrad Lounge, whilst you're in the same location the residences are to one side of the building.

Free internet and breakfast in the restaurant which was very nice. Slept well and took advantage of the 2pm check out.

The room was quite nice with a fruit platter. There is a full kitchen here and you could easily cook a meal if you so desired. Eight bottles of water provided.
