How do Hilton treat you as an Elite?

Just putting it out there. In my 40 or so Hilton stays in the past year, I never once had a turn down service.

That's strange. Do you usually check-in late?
In which properties did you mostly stay?

That is odd. Only other reason I can think of is if you put the DND sign on the door at all times, even when not in the room.

Unless turn down is gradually being phased out...

Predominantly European properties. No DND sign ever put out. No late check-ins for this little black duck.

My experience with Hilton in Europe is limited but problems with service at hotels is not something unheard-of in that part of the world...

My experience in AU properties has been mixed. Sometimes full turn down with chocolates to just mentos and breakfast menu on the pillow.

My experience has been in AU I've always got turndown. One property does small chocolates (flat square ones); another does tea bag. All of them put the breakfast menu on the pillow along with a weather card.

from memory Brisbane, sydney, adelaide at least do it

Sydney like to leave the laundry tray on the bed - which personally I find annoying.

What do you define as turn down?

I think SYD and HSW locally do it well - blinds down, corner of the bed folded with chocolates.

Sydney and Brisbane don't do it anymore, at least not when I stayed there lately.

I've never had one in Australia.

Had one at Conrad NY and thought it was a nice touch.

Not Hilton, but I've also had them at InterContinental Wellington.

They used to give at turndown in most Australian Hiltons but it stopped a while ago.
Most people use smart phones these days so it's really unnecessary to print the weekly weather anymore IMO.

Cairns never did a turn down service other than putting bottled water near the minibar

Hotel was decent, as usual. It's busy but not too bad. It's standard hilton in a lot of ways but you don't go here for the room. The ski valet is awesome and it is true ski in/out and the convenience is pretty unrivalled in terms of access to the slopes.

The restaurants have changed, whether it is positive or negative depends on what you like. I have no real complaints and from my last stay it is a vast improvement.

Hilton Niseko Village, Higashiyama, Hokkaido. (Ski Fields!!)

...

My sister and friend recently were in Niseko, end of January.

She is a HH Gold. I heard reports that she liked the property, free breakfast and onsen, as well as the proximity to the ski field. Apart from that, she didn't tell me if she got a handshake from anyone, or a gift in the room. Given that she wasn't a Diamond, probably not. She remarked that the food at the hotel is quite expensive (du'h), but apparently going to the village would not yield food of better quality (maybe not looking hard enough). In any case, she liked it and said she would happily book again.
