How do Hilton treat you as an Elite?

Nothing special about this hotel, needs major refurb in rooms no upgrade to EL lounge as per policy. Breakfast was quiet good, poor coffee,
Nothing special about the EL either - they don't serve Champers - food offerings so so - I thought their breakfast was pretty good but I only drink tea at breakfast.

Status: Diamond
Property: Hilton - Singapore
Booked: King Hilton Deluxe
Received: King Hilton Deluxe Plus
Rate: Corporate Rate - SIN 320+ per night (around A$290)

i'm just your basic gold but had such a great time here only 5 weeks ago. great staff. choose to have breakfast downstairs rather than in the EL- great..and free. Coffee in asia is hit and miss but thought the offering here was better than average so long as you didn't take the US style brewed cough of course. Agree the place is dated- it feels like a 'business' hotel - definetly not 'resort' sytle like the Conrad( which we stayed in at easter)

2 bottles of water in the room and vouchers for continental breakfast. This is served to you on a tray and consists of coffee, orange juice, muffin, danish, jam roll and an apple.
I really liked the dedicated check in for HH gold/diamond. As I had checked in online the day before I walked up to the desk showed them my HH card and was given the wallet with room key card, vouchers etc...time taken...30 seconds. The other 10 or so people in the normal queue did not look happy.

DYKWIA?? ;)

So by doing an e-check in, you forgo any better room which may be offered by staff if checking in normally? Does the e-check in show any upgrade rooms?

Yes...you are offered a choice but the offered options were not much better

So would you say you stood a better chance of an upgrade with the front desk, or it was likely a no-go regardless?

In this case a no go, as it was Columbus Day long weekend and pretty full. Diamonds were going to get any upgrades going before me.

Also no exec lounge here so no big deal

This must be a new email from Hilton South Wharf, sent by the Night Manager of the Front Office...but at least it makes me feel like an Elite:

Dear Mr QF WP

On behalf of the team, we would like to thank-you for again choosing the Hilton Melbourne South Wharf for your upcoming stay with us.

From your reservation, we have noted your late arrival and our Night Team would like to highlight a number of services that we have introduced to ensure our late arrivals are relaxing in the comforts of their own room as quickly as possible and enjoying a hassle free arrival experience.

Whether you are landing in Melbourne after a long flight or finishing a tiring day at work, we understand that the last thing you need after you arrive, is to spend time placing and waiting for your requests. Therefore, our Night Team would like to have all your requests ready and waiting in your room…before your arrive!

Please see below a selected list of our complimentary on-request items. Whilst our rooms already feature a standard selection of amenities, we would love to know if there is anything additional you would like to be placed in your room prior to arrival.

· International Adaptor, Phone Charger or Power board
· Dental Kit/Shaving Kit
· Slippers
· Newspaper (Herald Sun, The Australian, Financial Review or The Age)
· City Maps, Attraction Flyers & Tour Information Pack
· Extra towels, pillows, blankets or bathroom amenities
· Morning Wake Up Call
· Hilton eForea Bath Soak (See Attached eForea Bath Menu – Charges Apply)

If an item you require is not on the above list, please let us know and we will gladly assist you.

In addition to the above, we would like to highlight our 24 Hour In-Room Dining Menu and offer you the option of placing your order prior to your arrival to have your meal delivered to your room at your requested time.

If you would like to pre-order your meal, please contact us with your estimated time of arrival and we will endeavour to have your order placed in priority so it is delivered to you within only 15 minutes after you arrive to your room.

Should you wish to take up one of the above options, please do not hesitate to contact us on +61 (03) 9027 2000 or e-mail us at [email protected]

Otherwise, we look forward to welcoming you back to the Hilton Melbourne South Wharf.

I had the pleasure of meeting Justin as I checked in (very early) Sat AM. My pre-arrival requests were fulfilled (Dental kit & Shaving kit), however the morning paper failed to materialise.

That's great! Hoping I get something close to that level of service for my first South Wharf stay next week! Let's see if this new gold card helps me out

I didn't receive the email last weekend and I'm Diamond :(.
However, I did arrive at a respectable hour (in the afternoon).

Stayed at the Doubletree in Downtown Houston.
Booked: two doubles
Recieved: two doubles (low floor, no view)
No fridge despite request
Did get vouchers for breakfast.

I'm wondering it may have been due to the comment that I put in the booking that I was only likely to arrive at 12:30am

Conrad Bali
4 nights, "with our compliments" (pay 3 get 1 rate)
~$900/stay all in.
Booked: Twin garden (base room)
Received: Resort ocean suite

Pretty much the highest resort room on offer. Upgrades to the actual Conrad suites are rare but with a resort suite and access to the private pool, breakfast, high tea and lounge coughtails there is little practical difference.

This place really looks after diamonds, and I love it here. Seem to have comped my transfers to seminyak for dinner and they always have excellent service.

If anyone has a stay coming up, pm me and I can pass your details on to one of the managers who will look after you.

Will be back in a few weeks, great nearby place to take a quick break!

That's a really kind offer, thank you. I will take you up on it as I plan on booking in the next few weeks for the sometime next year.
