How do Hilton treat you as an Elite?

Where a hotel charges for a 2nd guest in the same room, that guest will stay for free if you book as a HHonors member.

Yes, I understand that concept and use it regularly, but in the cases stated, two of three hotels searched without logging in as a HH guest came back as the same rate for two (actually 3 if the 3rd is a child), so it seems a HH benefit is a benefit for all at some hotels.

Or 1A 1C and have 2A 1C, as a child is more likely to have no added charge whereas a second adult is.

Both HSW and H-BNE remained the same price for 2A+1C. I think it is Hilton policy that a child using existing bedding stays for free regardless. The catch is existing bedding, however in my experience, often they won't charge even when an additional rollaway is requested.

I always just add an extra guests name in the provided section, as far as I can tell, if you don't do this you can't guest an extra into the lounge or breakfast etc.

I must admit to doing the same.......I read here on AFF about someone denied a lounge guest because they only listed 1A as the only occupant. I'm not in the habit of asking strangers to the lounge, but on the odd occasion, my good wife decides to accompany me at the last minute. I've also only very occasionally asked a business colleague to the lounge to discuss business in a far more salubrious setting than a king exec room (wouldn't want people talking ).

Never put another name into my bookings, never had issues.

I stay in Asia mainly, however. They have different policies and rules.

Status: Silver
Property: Hilton Sydney
Rate: $189AAA
Date: 3 April
Booked: King Hilton Guestroom Plus

Was Diamond when originally booked but now silver.Rang before arrival to ask if we could get my partners benefits with my booking as she is Gold. Was taken back when they replied they could see I was Diamond when I booked and they would extend all benefits for this stay.To say I was speachless was an understatement.
Up until midnight was a pretty good stay until the guests in the suite next door arrived with a number of friends and started to make a enough noise to bring up security. My partner mentioned this in the Exec lounge in the morning and on our return form beakfast downstairs we were informed our stay on sunday night would be upgraded to a King Relaxtion Suite.Plus Diamond benefits again.:D

I wish I could "like" a post twice! Great outcome and very pleasing to hear H-SYD is continuing the good service that's being reported of late.

I originally thought it would be a humbling experience staying as a silver this month for my 5 stays I need to get back to Diamond thanks to a double stay promotion. But so far its not working out to well.:)

Anyone knows if Conrad Singapore is generous with their upgrades for Diamonds? Undecided between Conrad and Hilton. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

They were for me. Corner Exec room with in-room check-in. I prefer the Conrad over the Hilton even though the Hilton gave me a huge suite.

I forgot to add my last two stays. I'm now HH gold ongoing as I went for 50 nights Plat on SPG last year.

Property: DoubleTree Bucharest Unirii
Booked: single guest room (weekend rate at a crazy 36 EUR)
Received: King Junior Suite

Property: Hilton Copenhagen Airport
Booked: King Guest Room
Received: King executive room

Stayed at CPH just before Christmas. Decent upgrades as a Gold, definitely reinforces my preference for HH gold and SPG plat. Both properties had nice breakfasts and good service, the DoubleTree location wasn't the best but not complaining for the price.

Used to be even when a few of us checked in a couple years ago on our Singapore lounge run ;) I also used to visit there often and it's the pick of the Hilton bunch in Singapore.

Only ever had a base exec room upgrade here, which is the standard.

Actually, once got a suite, when I asked for one.

Thanks everyone for your feedback. I'm normally quite lucky with upgrades except for HSW. Have booked into Conrad and might do a night in Hilton just to check it out. Thinking of going across the bridge to try the DT as well but sounds like too much hassle based on what I've read.

Hi,

I'm HH gold. I'm about to book a stay in H-Bris for my wife - I won't be joining her.

H-Bris advised if I note her as a guest on my booking she will receive the gold privileges even though I won't be staying with her.

I thought I'd seen something about this elsewhere but can't find it now. I'd be interested in hearing about others' experience in this situation.

It hasn't been a problem for us at all. Just list her name and she can pick up the key and I've found on the few times my family has stayed and I haven't, that status benefits have been extended to them (including at H-BNE). Of course you would need to book through your HH account.

Aeolus there is just nothing special about Hilton SIN - even upgrades from base to higher class will leave you totally underwhelmed - and Exec Lounge nothing special either. But I do like location right on Orchard Rd.
