How do Hilton treat you as an Elite?

I've completed the four stays and will now be (complimentary) Diamond, for another two years (I hope), so pretty happy about that.

The HHonors website status-bar provided progress confirmation after each stay.

I have never logged into my HH account TBMK - so no knowledge of how what where why.

fantastic outcome.

Who else has received complimentary extension of Diamond when they never expected it? And 100,000pts to boot?

Not a complimentary extension as I did re-qualify but I did receive a card in the mail today saying I'd got a free 100K points.
This is the 100K points I logged on and claimed in early Feb but still I suppose it's nice of them to let me know by snail mail later on :p
Congrats Cruiser on the comp BTW !

Whilst by no means a stunning property, as a Gold member on sub A$70 rates got a Suite Upgrade (one of three in the property)

Hilton Garden Inn Hanoi...
Hoping for similar treatment at the real Hilton Opera Hanoi tomorrow.

Sofa and two lounges, and two toilets.

Exactly.. And how about some love for those who have earned gold (after all its still pretty difficult particularly in Aus).

Have no issue with Hilton giving status match tasters but they need to look after those who actually earn it better.

i think you'll like Hanoi Opera.really good lounge service and great/ helpful staff. the weirdest thing about the place is the heated swimming pool. it was something like 25 in the pool and 30 out of it - really alovely big bathtub. we managed an upgrade as a lowly gold to a huge suite there.

Sadly, on my stay a basic 7th floor Exec Room upgrade at the Hilton Opera Hanoi. That said it is an amazing property from the outside and a great foyer. Swimming pool also closed for repairs, being refilled today, albeit weather has been very overcast.

Exec Lounge is a fairly open design straight off the lifts on the 7th floor. Canapes served on the dot of 6pm with a wide selection and very large number (for about 10 ppl in the lounge) put under heat lamps. I would put it middle of the road versus other Asian properties. Decent spirits selection and a couple of reds/whites from Argentina/Chile that were passable.

Moved on after snacks to a few places nearby - first to the Aus/Canadian named 'Moose & Roo' in the American Club premises which served a southern US BBQ style menu with some Asian influences, then onto the nearby Soleil 13 a rooftop bar/restaurant (sadly fairly empty) with great views of the lake and Opera House

I hope this isn't too off topic, but I wondered if anyone had any recent experience as a HHD or HHGold and the PR13CB code?

They've recently changed the rate wording too: CORPORATE BENEFIT PARTNER RATE VALID FOR EMPLOYEES OF AUTHORIZED COMPANY PROOF OF COMPANY MAY BE REQUIRED

It does provide a decent rate at Conrad Singapore, so I was hoping to take advantage of it, but haven't used it since the wording changed.

Ok it's a bit of a big call but I reckon I had probably the worst check-in experience ever tonight at Hilton Belfast (Lanyon Place).
I did online check-in via the app and selected a King Studio suite on the 9th Floor. This is the room type booked. Upon arrival tonight I gave my name at reception to be told that they had no booking for me. Looking flustered I stated that maybe I didn't appear as I had already checked in. Problem solved. The keys were retrieved and given to me. And that was that. Zero Diamond recognition, no advice on Wi-Fi, Exec Lounge, Breakfast. Not even asked about a newspaper. Trotted off up to room with porter. I went up to the Exec Lounge where the delightful Mary provided me with the Wi-Fi code for Diamonds and two glasses of wine as the drinks were finishing. Afterwards I went back downstairs to reception to request my paper and ask about breakfast and amenity in lieu of upgrade. Informed by front desk that I had been upgraded. No idea how on earth she could see that when that's the room type I booked. Also advised that they no longer do Diamond amenities and no idea where I have got that from :?:
At that point I realised I'd better quit and hit the hotel bar and follow it up with Hilton Worldwide.

FWIW the room is actually quite nice bar the Shub

Is that the same Hilton feature in the TV series, "The Fall"? (unsure how many Belfast Hiltons there might be). Regardless, excellent show and worth watching, though might have you checking through the closet carefully !

I reckon Hilton Taupo will give it a go.
Indifference laced with idle disregard and a lack of common sense.
Otherwise a nice property.

Agreed. Nice property, ordinary staff (especially in the restaurant).

Great... I'm there in a couple of weeks...!

Upgrades?

I can't say as we booked the 3 bedroom apartment due to the number of us, but we were given the top floor and the apartment was excellent. One of the best I've stayed at. I can't really fault the property, as said above, the staff just seem to have a ho hum attitude. Nothing to complain bitterly about, but nothing to complement either. They just seemed to be going through the motions and the guests pose a disruption to their busy schedule of doing not much.
