How do Hilton treat you as an Elite?

DT Melbourne Baggage Error...

Following on from the above post about my great stay at the new Doubletree, I've had an interesting check out experience...I checked out at 2pm and left my bag at the front desk to pick up after some work meetings at 5pm.. Got my ticket stub etc..
Anyway, I arrive back at 5 and my bag is nowhere to be found... Turns out they sent the bag ( and attached another wrong baggage tag with future guests name on it) up to the room I had stayed in... It was waiting in there for the upcoming guest.

My bag also had a Virgin Bag Tag with my full name etc... I didn't cause any sort of scene there but definitely not happy about this due to security reasons etc.

Room 12 at DT Mel has a window and doesn't look out to a brick walk either. I quite like this room as its quieter than the station view room. They were booked out yesterday. There's now a coffee machine similar to the exec lounge of HSW at the DT cafe. A better juicer too but the oranges meant for the juicer still have the skin on. Yuck!

Would I stay here again? Only if there was a significant difference in price from HSW. I have a booking there on the 8th March as HSW is $200 dearer but I'm still deciding whether to stay there or not.

- Received King Executive (lowly Gold, actually earned though)
- 1 litre Water in room
- No welcome letters or any warm and fuzzies.

Upon check in, asked whether breakfast downstairs was included and told absolutely. Next morning I'm told I had to pay an upgrade charge of $10 if I wanted full breakfast... I paid it but have never been asked to before, wonder if this is a new addition like the infamous $5 coffee fee.

Valet charge here is absolutely absurd at $55, thieves.

Received a harbour view room.
There is no exec lounge here so given 2 drink vouchers.
Other than the room having a balcony and harbour view, it is a standard size room and quite ordinary.
No other benefits received.
Last stay in SYD there was a comp bottle of wine. Rang about 45mins ago for the free water, still waiting.

DoubleTree Tower of London, The chauffeur dropped me off just before 8am. Did not make any comments on the booking re early check in. Was quickly checked in and advised where the breakfast was as well as the executive lounge.

Basic room on the Hilton floor as booked.

Now time to explore.

Relaxation room from Deluxe Plus booked. The team at exec lounge are exceptional. Even the size of the prawns served have been upsized

So much jealousy...Just booked in 3 trips to HSYD for next month, I just hold out hope for an exec room haha

Prawns are gone from what I've seen lately at the Sydney Hilton, including last Friday night and the Sunday prior to that. Just vegetable sticks in that spot. You must be getting those prawns from a hidden section in the EL.

Prawns were definitely in abundance today plus good size ones too. I normally don't eat them as they're too much work but made an exception tonight.

Wished I took a pic of the prawns now, just in case they don't appear on Thu . Anyway, wishing you both prawns aplenty!
At DT MEL tonight, received station view room but on lower level. In future, I would choose Room 12 for Level 8 and below as it'll be quieter.
