How do Hilton treat you as an Elite?

Good to see the hotel takes care of its premium guests. I was joking on my previous post, even if there were 5 of those suites I would not get any as I haven't stayed at HCNS in years.
I do remember their "newly" renovated (shows you how long I haven't been there) spa rooms were nice.

For anyone wondering about H-CNS for October, here's the Relaxation Suite for comparison.

My view is the relaxation suite is sub-par. It's dark and odd. The bedroom is really just part of the living area except it has a part partition between. The spa is a relatively small affair yet a lot of space has been wasted with the luggage area.

Rate: $289 (?? I think) gov't rate.

I wouldn't book one of these over an exec king. They are bigger (about twice the size) but not as nice (IMHO).

My first stay in Cairns back in feb was in the exec spa suite with the city view.Price was only $60 extra once they had upgraded me to an exec room.Total was $250/night.I didnt mind the room with the dark timber and had a decent leather lounge.
Second stay last month was in the exec room facing the water and after booking the base room at $160 I couldnt complain about the price, especially when they didnt charge for valet parking.

This doesn't show up in normal booking requests and i only found out about it last time when i got upgraded to it as there seemed to be no other rooms and I'm up to about stay 12 i think

In the booking i put " i liked the last room you gave me"

note came back "we have noted your request" and here i am again!

It does show up in paid upgrade requests though

I've stayed once in the Cairns Premier Suite for 3 days - superb. But it was only after I once got an upgrade - one night - to the Premier Suite from a Spa Exec room. Was very unexpected. Sadly didn't spend much time in the room and was travelling solo, so a bit of a waste, but nice nonetheless. And was enough motivation to book it for a later stay.

Hello Cruiser, I've done my trip, stayed at Conrad on the recommendation of the good people on this forum and LOVED IT! Thanks to all for your feedback.
Booked the cheapest room at Conrad (not that cheap, still $300+) but got upgraded to exec corner room on the highest floor. Gave the check in guy $10 for helping me with my bags and got treated like royalty from then on . Honestly, I don't think it's the tip, they were just fantastic overall. I managed to also get a night with 24000 points and $149 which was really good value IMHO.

Property: Hilton Reading
Rate: 99 pounds Weekend special.
Dates 17-21 April
Booked: Hilton Queen
Received: Hilton Queen, Two waters daily, breakfast, wifi, 16 drinks vouchers, bottle of wine, dinner daily. Nothing additional to the requirements of the Weekend rate.

We stayed at this hotel exactly 12 months ago as a stop when coming from the West before catching a flight from LHR. This time we arrived at LHR (2.5 hours in Immigration!) and were using it as a base to explore the Cotswolds. We had a very high opinion last year but not so much this year. Breakfast was a touch disorganised and, though comprehensive in selection, it was tending to be a bit tired. Dinners were fine including an excellent buffet one night and a good election form the a la carte menu on the others. We had intended to go out but in the end didn't. The drinks vouchers meant we didn't have to buy anything extra. Clearly, at 99 pounds it was excellent value with the extras valued at more than the room rate. Rooms are comfortable and have great wifi, the best I've experienced in a hotel. Service was very hit and miss - very friendly but not very accomplished. My partner described it as "a bit like Cairns" which is a fair description. At the rate and with the inclusions we had very few complaints. I'd recommend the hotel for the sort of purposes we had. It is not a destination in itself.
