How do Hilton treat you as an Elite?

Property : Hilton LAX
Status: Gold
Room Booked: King
Room Received: King with exec lounge access

Lounge is tiny; couldn't find any space during the evening 'service' and quickly left. Drinks aren't free anyway.
Went to wash hands in bathroom and discovered the soap box was empty. Five hours and two calls to housekeeping to get soap and shower gel. Two bottles of water in room. Windows do nothing to keep out the sound of departing aircraft. Hate to think about breakfast in the lounge....
Breakfast was an improvement. We got a table and the spread was the usual continental foods expected in the US. Bagels make me happy.

Re: The Hilton Breakfast Thread

how do you rate those properties in KUL? Wanting to stay there in September.
They are both excellent, and as a diamond I am well looked after. Rarely do I not get a suite. The HH is slightly dearer but more conveniently located adjacent to KL Sentral. The service in the exec lounges is great, too.

(I have moved this question from the 'breakfast' thread).

I would also add the third KL property Hilton Petaling Jaya (a bit further out) is also a good property, albeit a bit older. Generally a little cheaper but I think better food in the EL

Once again complementary full breakfast (include eggs Benedict to order) plus barista coffee at Hilton Perth.

Good to see some AU properties still treat their loyal members properly.

I must enquire about that as this rough little Diamond was charged for coffee in PER on the last visit.
I do like the Canapés and Wine voucher thing though

Well Princess, I wonder what's on your OnQ profile! You seem to regularly miss out on upgrades and be billed for coffee. Maybe you need to convert from that sweet Princess façade and do your ogre thing, just to remind them who's boss!

+1

One glass of Vasse Felix Can Sav is better then one bottle of Bay of Stones ;)
The canapés change every night which is nice

Totally agree with you there. Perth really does a nice job of making up for the lack of Exec Lounge. Some other properties could learn lessons from them

I found the Hilton KUL nice enough, but for the casual tourist I wonder how convenient most people find it? Its certainly close to the metro rail station, but outside of that I was surrounded by office and residential towers with absolutely nothing going on at ground level - if you don't train or taxi out of the area there is nothing happening.

In contrast, I found the DT far more convenient with malls and shops and the Petronas towers all within walking distance. The pool area isn't as nice as the Hilton being mostly shaded by the hotels towers, but outside of that, its an outstanding property which gave me more of a hilton feel than even the Hilton itself :)

Re: The Hilton Breakfast Thread

Does anyone have any recent experience at the Hilton Surfers Paradise as a Gold?
We will be booking two rooms - I am diamond and was wondering what the chances are of the gold member being upgraded to an executive room so we could all enjoy the lounge together.

My experience is that they are quite responsive there so ask if you need to do so.

Property: Hilton Auckland
Date 19/7/15
Booked: King Hilton Guestroom
Received: Bow Suite
Rate: $295

Very tidy upgrade and very happy!

The rooms here aren't amazing so the suite upgrade is nice.

Small bottle of Sparkling wine in the room too.

Currently enjoying my complimentary drinks in the temporary Bellini lounge before I head to dinner at Fish! Trying to stay on property because it looks like I'll be retaining on Base Points this year!

It's certainly comfortable, but would people actually be happy to pay $940 bucks per night for this?

Never in a million years. Looks quite lovely, clean lines and good space, but AUD$ (?) 940? I'd never want to leave the room if it cost me that much :)

Well done! I've had a handful of stays and never been upgraded to a suite. Got two more stays coming soon so here's hoping. Though one is over a weekend and it already looks chockers. Late night arrivals wouldn't help either I guess.

The prices for the suites and relaxation rooms at Auckland are always extraordinary. Must be some people paying - lotto is the only way it would ever be me.
