How do Hilton treat you as an Elite?

We should return to Gold after a trip to Europe with at least 16 nights at various Hiltons and will certainly stay at HSW when next in Melbourne.

Depending on the number of stays you have planned have you looked into doing a diamond or gold challenge. I am not sure how many stays they currently require but may be worth looking into.

have had a bit of hunt through the thread to read about Hilton Brisbane and cant find too much. am debating whether to stay here with my 2 kids as a diamond. or Soffitel as a Platinum. no double doubles available the night id like to stay so will have to involve a $55 roll out. both i must say have extrememly high parking rates. i will have my car.

The lounge at Sofitel is light years better than the Hilton lounge. There aren't many suites at Hilton so chances of an upgrade to one aren't great.
I'd pick Sofitel for sure.

I agree with PF. I stay in both and I have the exact same status with both as you. Both have parking avail at a ridiculous cost, IIRC Sofitel is $46 and Hilton is $56. There are parking buildings next door to Hilton in the wintergarden building, check "secureparking.com.au" (I think that's right) for parking specials and a parking building over the road from the Sofitel has special rates for overnight and weekends. As PF said the lounge at Sofitel rates so much higher than the Hilton and room quality and amenities are pretty much on par.
I guess the other thing to look at is location, if your +1 is into shopping etc the Hilton may be better.

I have booked the first hotel in Amsterdam for 6 nights but split the booking between my account and my daughter’s account. I booked the 1[SUP]st[/SUP], 3[SUP]rd[/SUP], 4[SUP]th[/SUP] and 6[SUP]th[/SUP] nights on the suggestion of the excellent JessicaTam. The other 2 nights are booked in my daughter’s name. This should give me three stays.

The next hotel is in London and have booked all 10 nights on my account.

I have seen a Gold Status offer through NBK with the link shown below. It requires 3 stays before November 30[SUP]th[/SUP] and seems to suit my requirements perfectly.

I am tempted to stay at the Conrad in Singapore on our way home rather than the Crowne Plaza at Changi Airport, as I should have Gold status by then.

Conrad Singapore - be aware they only do 1 level upgrades so to get lounge access you need the higher category rooms. It is a great lounge though for afternoon tea and coughtails

Thank you for that information. It may make a difference to my decision. Especially as the Crowne Plaza is very well located for onward travel and is cheaper than the Conrad.
But, on the other hand, I have really enjoyed our stays at the Conrad in the past.

Very nice Hilton in a stunning city. Full breakfast served in the restaurant for Diamonds, unsure about other HH statuses but the restaurant was full so I'm guessing many people get comped breakfast here, or there were many HH elites. The Exec Lounge is a good area: advantages are beer and wine served between 6pm and 10.30pm and outside the 'canapés' time but the downside is the food is decidedly average (nothing like KUL which is the best lounge food I've experienced at a Hilton).

Was able to have the complimentary breakfast in the restaurant on level 6, but they're still pushing the $5 charge on espresso coffee.

Upon checking in, there was a HH gold checking in at the counter next to me who was told that they could only get a "one level upgrade" to a 'deluxe room' because they are gold, and could only have the cold breakfast in the exec lounge. They would need to pay extra for breakfast in the restaurant.

Comfy bed, turndown service etc, central location. Great service for drinks in the evening at the lounge with the glaring problem being Saturday night when the lounge was packed. No issue with the staff, just the size of the room vs the number of guests in the lounge at the time.

Hi, a quick question for more experienced golds and diamonds. Supposedly Gold gets complimentary "continental" breakfast. Whenever I book I generally pay extra for my rate to include breakfast especially when travelling with family so I'm sure we all get the breakfast. I'm currently Gold and after recently staying in the 2 Hiltons in bali and getting basically no recognition or upgrades was glad I booked breakfast in the rate. What do others do?

Complementary breakfast is offered to the 2nd registered guest. If it's more than 2 pax, then you generally have to pay for breakfast for the extra pax.

Very nice upgrade at check in to a two room suite which is about double the size of a standard room. I have stayed at this Conrad numerous times before and generally get some sort of upgrade but this is the first time to a Suite.

Doubletree Krakow
Status: Diamond
Booked: King Guest Room
Received:King Suite
Rate:approx AUD120 per night
Type: Flash Sale
Stay: 4 nights August 2016

There was no on line check-in offered on the day before my scheduled arrival but I noticed on the day of arrival that we had been moved to an accessible room. I emailed the hotel to say we didn't need it and would be happy to accept an upgrade if someone else needed the room. We were then upgraded. This relatively new hotel was a AUD45 taxi ride from the airport which took about 30 minutes. It is remote from the Old Town and next to a shopping centre (and a Hampton Inn) in a very nondescript area. The only views were of the carpark at the back of the shops. It is 20 minutes by tram to the Old Town (cost around AUD1.00). There would be no choices for reasonable eating apart from the hotel or going into town. The suite was excellent - new, well designed and comfortable. The bed is still relatively new and comfortable. The bathroom was spacious and modern. The hotel has an excellent pool and gym and a reasonable restaurant though pricey by Poland standards. The executive lounge serves a an excellent breakfast with several hot items as does the restaurant with an egg station and a great selection of hot and cold items. The evening drinks (5.00pm to 8.00pm) were wine and beer (we didn't ask if we could have spirits) but the food spread was like a buffet with one hot course. It was set up to dine there as many did. Staff were universally helpful though English communication skills varied. All up, probably the best Doubletree I've stayed in and I would put up again with the slightly inconvenient location if I ever came back to the wonderful city of Krakow.

Great location, fantastic service, usually get generous upgrades there as diamond. Suite was large and luxurious. Love the a-la-carte breakfast selection in the restaurant.

Overall it's a flawless property and my favourite Conrad Hotel.

Transport information:
Taxi from HND: ¥7,100 (20 min)
Shuttle to NRT: ¥3,100 (90 min)

As a Diamond (and previously gold) I never booked a rate including breakfast, and usually receive full buffet (theres only a few hotels in Aus who stick to the continental rule for Golds...Many international holidays do however)

I travel 95% solo and only ever with one additional guest if I'm with someone, so don't have the family experience.

No real diamond recognition. Did wrangle a late checkout to 4pm after a bit of discussion. Brand new hotel which I am undecided on. Seems to be gearing itself more to the conference and wedding market. Nice enough modern rooms. Some have a very average outlook. Avoid level 4 as a general guide. Sensational meal in China Blue their signature restaurant (AU$100 pp incl wine). Pool underwhelming. Breakfast average. Executive lounge offer is average. Staff still in training but friendly and lots of them

Just made a quick reservation for HSW tonight.. Knowing that they process their diamond suite upgrades the night before usually, would it be worthwhile calling now or just hoping they upgrade me using initiative at check in? Never usually so last minute. Haven't stayed here for about 8/9 months.

In my experience they will still have it sorted for you.
