How do Hilton treat you as an Elite?

Status: HH Diamond
Property: Hilton Sydney
Rate: $185/night (less Hilton Macquarie 20%)
Booked: King Hilton Guestroom
Upgraded: King Relaxation Suite
Received: Breakfast for 2 in Glass Brasserie, Welcome card from GM (not personalised), piece of fruit and 2 bottles of water.

The spa here was gorgeous! I think I spent an hour in it.

Great upgrade - were you only staying for one night?

I must say that I've had some really nice room upgrades at Sydney as a Gold - in the seemingly surreal reality of life, I have never stayed there as a diamond.

Posted on a wing and a prayer ...

Great upgrade - were you only staying for one night?

Yes, only one night. It was a case of grabbing a cheap rate and banking on a upgrade. My partner now gets why I maintain Hilton Diamond now. I think I'm going to be allowed to continue travelling and spending just on Hilton now when it's reasonable to do so.

Hotel: Hilton Queenstown
HH Status (Virgin) Diamond

Upgraded to: King Wakatipu Suite
Also full breakfast at the main restaurant, full size bottle of red, water and welcome note with an invitation to meet the GM for coffee, awaiting in room.

Hhonors Diamond

Room booked: King Bed
Rate: $149 USD (Convention Rate)
Received: King Bed Stuidio Suite

Status: HH Diamond
Property: Hilton Brisbane
Rate: $350/night 2 nights
Booked: Executive King
Received: What I booked. Told only 5 suites in the hotel and none available. Booked higher grade than I normally would because of lack of lower grade availability. Comfortable room on 20th Floor with decent city view. Enjoyed the club with excellent service from manager Mark. Good selection of hot and cold nibbles in the evening, and free flowing drinks. Breakfast in the club was fresh abd adequate. Breakfast second morning in the Restaurant downstairs was an excellent buffet. Allup, very pleasant stay at a well run and well maintained hotel.

The Hilton Surfers is very "hit and miss" I must say, just back from the 3rd stay there, 1st time as a Diamond, and no difference really... Well this time I didn't receive a disabled/accessible room as an upgrade I guess and the continual insistence that I was upgraded when it seems quite clear to me I was downgraded into an accessible room......... But that's in the past so I gave them a 3rd try

Status: HH Diamond
Property: Hilton Surfers Paradise
Date: 11/12th May 2012
Booked: King Hilton Guestroom
Received: King Hilton Guestroom Executive
Miscellaneous: 4 x Free beers waiting for me again in the room! Ice bucket full of water, but I did arrive quite late (9pm) Staff very friendly, breakfast staff in Salt are great!

The reception staff member was outstanding and I had my room key in less than 30 seconds, but I did ask about getting upgraded to a relaxation room/suite and was told I had received the "Executive upgrade as part of my HH Diamond membership" Perfect script reading from the "how to answer members questions when they enquire about further upgrades"

Of course there were rooms available all weekend, as I rang down to ask about having a look at both of them, and they confirmed I could do this at any stage on the weekend, and on-line shows rooms available.

I am going to give them one more try, but it seems the Hilton South Wharf in Melbourne treats their members better!

Status: HH Gold
Property: Hilton Garden Inn Glasgow City Center
Rate: 79GBP/night
Booked: Twin Evolution Room (AP)
Received: Twin Evolution Room. Was offered an upgrade but as I was not travelling with SWMBO I declined! Exercised my Gold status for the free breakfast. Had a good spread, although not quite as large as the HGI in Krakow. Still, was tasty none-the-less and I had the largest omlette I've ever seen cooked to order. Had the usual signature HGI waffles too. Comfortable enough and good for the price, albeit a little further walk out of town ; but I see it as being a good opportunity for exercise which I tend to lack time for these days:!: Would stay again.

HHonors Diamond
Hilton Beijing
Booked: King Hilton Deluxe
Received: King Hilton Executive room in Exec Tower thus with Exec lounge breakfast - eggs made to order
Amenities: water (mind you that is usual in all Asian hotels I find due to the water quality) and a Bottle of fairly OK red on arrival. Also think my shirt pressing was complimentary :)

Overall a great experience (though the burger with Foie Gras and black truffle was quite disappointing). A nice mix of modern (Nespresso machine in room) and chinese style.

Yep....ice bucket was only containing water....not an ice cube in sight.

To make matters worse, arrived back to my room today at 5:30pm to find that housekeeping had not bothered to arrive. Hilton Surfers Paradise, you have lost me. Am booked to stay here again with work next month but am seriously thinking of changing my booking as well as my colleagues. I am an absolute advocate of Hilton hotels but this one has seriously let them down.

Just to let you all know that I did follow up with the GM. Sincere apologies for what he termed an "embarrassing" situation and an offer to come and stay at the hotel again to prove that what i experienced was a one off. Happy to take him up on his offer:)

Nice that you heard back

As I can't edit my post above about the Hilton Surfers Paradise

I also had no bath towels in my room upon arrival and had to ring down and ask for them, a small oversight, but one that should not occur!

Hilton Honours Gold [ thanks to this forum !!!! ]

Sydney Hilton

Booked King Deluxe

Upraded to Relaxation Suite on check in and also given Executive lounge access plus a choice of breakfast in the lounge or Glass Brasserie in the morning for breakfast. Very impressed with the room and the service is amazing.Good choice of food in the lounge and plenty of wine !!!

Off to the Conrad Singapore tomorrow night.

We will definitely enjoy the Conrad Singapore, stayed there last year and had lounge access so have booked an executive room to ensure we have access this year. The service was AMAZING and the food in the lounge was excellent. We enjoyed the Conrad a lot more than the Intercontinental in Singapore.I think it was due to the staff who seemed to make the stay so much more personal and were so friendly towards all the guests in the lounge.

Possibly wrong thread...but, I have booked a reward stay at the Conrad in Singapore for their basic room. If I am on a reward stay, will I still get access to executive lounge given I am HH Diamond?

I have to agree with this as well, the staff did everything they could to make my stay 10/10!

Booked a 1 King Classic Room

We arrived very early (9am) and were immediately put into a room so that we could shower/change and spend the day in Singapore, when we returned we were moved into a King Bed Executive Premier!

Of course we had lounge access for Breakfast as well

This was when I was only Gold with Hilton

We are aiming for Platinum either this year or next with Hilton and will not worry so much about Priority Club or Accor. This is after only 3 stays with Hilton.
