How I wish there was a Hilton in Canberra!!
Don't we all!

Perhaps both .

Admittedly, I've only stayed once at HSW and the bath in the 2 Bedroom Suite was miniscule (as was the bath in the Hilton Cairns relaxation room). I had to wash one toe at a time.........oops, I must have Yowie toes too! ;)

Got the perfect video for you... or perhaps for TonyHancock :p (except neither you nor TH would be wearing a dress, of course).

That rates as one of my all time favourite Fawlty Towers episodes.

Status: HH Gold
Property: Waldorf Rome Cavalieri

Rate: $330 Euro
Booked: King Guest Room Rome View
Upgraded: No, didn't expect however as they don't upgrades elites to imperial floors.
Received: Letter from front desk. Two bottles of water and 'lounge access'

Note: A very beautiful hotel, very grand and over the top... And expensive! My fiancé elected to have a pedicure and while doing so I revived a call to the room saying there had been an incident. Moments later my fiancé arrived at the room with a bandaged up left foot and a nice cut on the underside of her foot. From what we could work out the therapist slipped, the duty manager, doctor and security all came up to the room and offered there apologies and also came up the next day to redress. They also offered a complimentary 80 minute massage for the trouble caused. We didn't peruse it further as while its been an incontinence I am sure it was a mistake.

Hilton Auckland booked deluxe got deluxe. Apologized no upgrade due to bookings, however received a nice Pinot noir and trimmings as one would expect.

Good hotel I'll be back. It's reasonable value when converted back to AUD

I have never seen a rate below NZ$450 at the Hilton Auckland...

There are some cheaper - I have seen nz$240 on a January sale a year or two ago. The MAQ 20% discount can come in handy here as well as the AU$99 special rate.

Posted on a wing and a prayer ...

I would have pursued the inconvenience if I had to peruse incontinence!

Don't you love grammatical errors! I usually just get to laugh at my own!

I was guessing more it was smartphone auto-correct, though I fail to see how most smartphones would auto-correct selectively to incontinence rather than inconvenience.

If there were a more adverse reaction on the part of hummel, it may have manifested itself as incontinence. :)

More seriously, hummel, hope your fiance is OK. Also hope that you get to see a doctor soon (in case you need a tetanus shot).

Just checked in for 2 nights at Hilton South Wharf. Am HH Gold.

Booked King Exec Rm. Received exactly this, but again told it was an upgrade. I challenged this but was assured the high floor was an upgrade. Key didn't work so came down again and voiced displeasure at no upgrade - asked the lady to check. She told me none available (but clearly there are all suites available for purchase for tonight and next 2 nights.)

Very poor.

Just came from Brisbane Hilton where I wasn'tr upgraded but had a bottle of wine, chocs and a personal letter. Have asked what the HSW may do. Not holding my breath. Is a shame, as everything else here is great - why lie and scrimp on things like this?

Note that on the HH website as Gold benefits it notes that an upgrade is considered to be a room with a higher floor, better location (e.g. corner room), etc. so not necessarily a category upgrade.

Indeed, I think such platitudes as 'higher floor' and 'desirable views' are also features of the upgrade benefits for Diamonds, at least since guaranteed executive floor room upgrades (subject to availability, of course) were removed a few months ago. To me, an upgrade is a room that is priced higher than the room I've selected.

There is an interesting thread on Flyertalk about changes to the T&Cs for HHonors made a week ago.

Looks like this is the side effect of reducing the Gold upgrade specification from "minimum Executive floor" to "preferred rooms" is now proven here.
