How do Hilton treat you as an Elite?

Unfortunately not the same treatment at Conrad HK only an upgrade to exec level with lounge access and breakfast.

Four free shirts pressed was a nice touch however.

A pity free drinks is only 5-7pm as they just called last drinks.....,

I thought there are free drinks throughout the day? ie tea/coffee/softdrink/juice. from 6:30am to 11pm
Evening coughtails and food from 5pm- 9pm
Afternoon tea from 3pm -5pm
Breakfast 6:30am -11am

That's what they told me in an email yesterday.

The letter for the Conrad Exec Floors has evening coughtails with canapés from 1700-1900

Despite the lack of upgrade or HHD recognition (I guess they get a lot here) we love this hotel. The suite is huge and tastefully furnshed and well maintained. Breakfast in Ilios Restaurant was superb. Told that the full b/fast would cost $8 extra but were not charged. All up, one of the nicest Hiltons I've been in with great staff and good facilities. Pool area and gym are excellent.

Poorest stay so far at SYD. Room not ready at check-in time ( not too fussed about that though), no Diamond amenity in room, ie. not even WATER!! Rang Magic to ask about it and after a hold period ( presumably to check my credentials) advised it would be sent up. Went out and returned 2 hours later. Nothing had arrived. Telephoned again, whilst in shower two bottles of water and packet of macadamias arrived. Underwhelmed :( This morning rang Magic 15 minutes before check-out for my car from the valet. It never arrived. When I checked at desk downstairs it had never been requested by Magic.
Will be emailing the GM. Very, very ordinary and totally inconsistent with my previous stays there

I should add the walking distance to Universal was about 20 minutes which I find easy but I noticed in reviews for the hotel some people complained about. There are also free shuttles to Universal. Enjoy, I know I did.

Hotel: Bangkok Millennium Hilton
Booked: Standard King Room on Any Weekend, Anywhere rate
Received: Executive King
Benefits: Exec lounge, water in room, 2 items pressing per day

Bangkok Hilton delivers once again! Sunday night great as exec lounge not too busy, easy to get window seat overlooking the city (for those not familiar, exec lounge is on 31st floor overlooking river and Bangkok city).

FWIW, re my underwhelming experience at Hilton Sydney, did get emailed an apology from the hotel.

There is a bar and eating area available for lunch and dinner. Can view planes from bar. Lots of eating options just below hotel. Didn't hear a plane whole time there. Good choice of tv stations about 7 in English.

Hotel: Hilton Coventry UK
Booked: King Room
Received: King Room Deluxe
Price: GBP69.00
Benefits: Quarter bottle of wine, packet of chips, chocolate bar, two bottles of water, and bathrobe

This could have all gone horribly wrong. When checking in their was no recognition of diamond status and no paperwork prepared. I had to ask about the room upgrade and breakfast. I was told that the benefits would be in the room and if by chance they weren't then I should call the front desk. A housekeeper was knocking on my door with the "deluxe" pack before I could call!!

Hilton South Wharf maybe my 20th stay in 18 months over that time I have only stayed in suites (relaxation or Yarra) - can you see where this is going?

Booked - King Guest
received - King Exec

I only really realised when I got onto the floor - I suspected it might have been one of the apartments but no just a regular room with lounge access...

I called magic but they couldn't help.

This was a prepaid rate though which might influence it.

Still

Hotel: Hilton Sydney
Date: 30 Nov
Booked: King Hilton Deluxe
Received: King Relaxation Room
Rate: $250.17
Benefits: One bottle of water, bottle red wine and cheese/fruit platter

The upgrade was due to a less than satisfactory stay there the month earlier.
I loved the relaxation room, breakfast in Glass never disappoints and the location of this hotel cant be beat for shopping
:D

The refurbished executive lounge had excellent canape choices including fresh prawns and oysters, sushi, delish chicken pies, soup, cheeses etc plus little desserts. The refurb is a little underwhelming - seating and tables are too close together and the bench seats against the windows have very low cushions (maybe you are not meant to stay in there too long). An open room on the right as you enter has a long table and what looked like aluminium chairs and the drinks area is very cluttered with the cold drink fridges directly under the coffee machine making access an issue when there are a few people waiting.
I wish I had taken some photos

You'd like to think not.... I'd be pretty surprised if the best upgrades were only given to those on flexi rates ... though perhaps I am wrong. I guess flexi opens the possibility of last moment cancellation if expectations are not met?

Feels to me like the much anticipated / feared dilution of bennies is finally upon us. Along with the recently announced increase in the 'cost' of status its left a bit of a sour taste.

I will be testing out again next week at HSW and the Adelaide the following week.

My best upgrade so far was Macau (commented on earlier in thread) on a points plus pay stay!! :-)

Hotel: Hilton Adelaide
Date: 28-30 October
Booked: King Hilton Guest Room
Received: King Hilton Executive Room. I asked about the possibility of an upgrade but was told in no uncertain terms that I had already received one.
Rate: $120 per night (Great Getaway Sale)
Benefits: One bottle of water (not replaced)

Service in the executive lounge was friendly and efficient.
It seemed like all the staff at breakfast in the restaurant on both mornings were in training - tables not cleared, juice and fruit not replenished until requested.
For the price, we were very happy and would stay there again.
We were staying with another couple who were gold and they received exactly the same upgrade to an exec room so diamond didn't amount to anything more.
