How do Hilton treat you as an Elite?

Feels to me like the much anticipated / feared dilution of bennies is finally upon us. Along with the recently announced increase in the 'cost' of status its left a bit of a sour taste.
i would think it has more to do with how many people have paid for the suites than anything else.
I normally use pre-paid rates and get a suite or apartment on most occasions. Last week I had two flexi booking that were cancelled at the last minute and both had a Relaxation Suite allocated.

Poorest stay so far at SYD. Room not ready at check-in time ( not too fussed about that though), no Diamond amenity in room, ie. not even WATER!! Rang Magic to ask about it and after a hold period ( presumably to check my credentials) advised it would be sent up. Went out and returned 2 hours later. Nothing had arrived. Telephoned again, whilst in shower two bottles of water and packet of macadamias arrived. Underwhelmed :( This morning rang Magic 15 minutes before check-out for my car from the valet. It never arrived. When I checked at desk downstairs it had never been requested by Magic.
Will be emailing the GM. Very, very ordinary and totally inconsistent with my previous stays there

Did you ever get a response back from the GM Princess Fiona?

Hilton KL Sentral

booked: Twin guest room (two separate bookings due to rate changes)
Once again upgraded to Grand Executive Suite and shown on booking confirmation one day prior. Hotel was fully booked so I was surprise with the upgrade.

I received almost 8 bottles of water daily and fruit platter. Didn't get to eat breakfast at all due to too much partying at Zouk and Butter Factory

Received: Twin Hilton Executive Room.

This was the first time I had booked a "Single" Hilton Guestroom. My fear is that I will get stuck in one with Exec lounge access so I was pleased to get the twin room. The Single room rate can be very good (GBP49) if one books well in advance. (As opposed to the one day in advance I booked this time!!)

Out of interest, were you travelling solo? Just wondering how they would determine an upgrade to a suite if a person booked a twin room, which would presuppose two beds were required (unless there were two beds in the suite as well).

P.S. How was the Butter Factory? My buddy's cousin owns the SIN Butter Factory and the KUL one is a sort of franchise of that. I went to the SIN one in April and got the VIP treatment, though the err, music was a little different to what I used to. Had a good time though. :)

Unfortunately not the same treatment at Conrad HK only an upgrade to exec level with lounge access and breakfast.

Four free shirts pressed was a nice touch however.

A pity free drinks is only 5-7pm as they just called last drinks.....,

What does pressed mean? Does it mean they will only iron 4 shirts or does that cover laundry too?

Cheers

Welcome note, and three mini cakes including a 1cm sq lamington on a plate, water.

Thought the lounge was like a cafeteria you would find at a uni or the old JQ lounge in OOL, just with better food offerings, had breakfast downstairs which was poorly designed in terms of layout (there is a vertical panel feature that blocks a lot of the room where the egg station is and different food is located at three corners of the restaurant, on the up side the coffee was brilliant.

Found the lift access poor with an average 5 minute wait Friday at 5Pm and Saturday at 9AM from ground or the 41st floor.

Thats generally what this means.

or does that cover laundry too?

Not in my experience.

Its a nice little add-on that some hotels seem to give. I love little touches like this. The Hilton South Wharf for instance, if staying on the exec level, will shine one pair of shoes for you per day.

A real big thumbs up for this hotel. After my first night I had an appointment at hospital for a pre surgery admission clinic - this turned into me not being allowed to leave the clinic and being admitted as an emergency case straight to one of the wards.

The HSW organised for all the stuff in my room to be packed up and stored and looked after my car until my parents could collect everything later in the week. Really made everything quite painless when I had a lot on my mind.

Very well looked after by the great staff at the Alfred in Melbourne and well on the way to recovery post surgery. Never was able to locate the Executive Lounge at the hospital though!

HSW booked King Guest $240

Received two bed apartment

Last stay for the year.

Now it is nice to be upgraded but they referred to this as a suite and it isn't a suite it is an apartment. It gets the smaller guest room amenities... Precious much?

Ahhh. Mind doing a hotel report on this one? I'm vacillating on a stay here for early next year. Mostly my hesitance is probably related to not having stayed at a DT before, but for this property:

- Whats the pool area like? Too shaded by the towers around it? Somewhere comfortable to relax or is being surrounded by in-house restaurants too distracting?
- Exec lounge? I'm not sure that they tell you on their home page blurb if there is one
- In house general bar/lounge/club .... comments?
- Location any good?
- General stuff, food, service, etc.
