How do Hilton treat you as an Elite?

Morning Mr Wilson, actually MrsF has about 13 nights at Syd Hilton this year Vs my 4.....
She is so far ahead of me on total nights it isn't even funny. She would be at least 50 nights ahead in total.
I am "hoping" that we both get an upgrade or she does. It would be quite interesting if just I did.
I have taken screen shots of the bookings and will compare over the next 24 hours.

I think if you log into the Hilton website 24 hours beforehand it shows you. I am fairly sure the iPhone app does as well.

no guarantee since i was upgraded on hhonors website then downgraded from what i was upgraded to by the time i checked in

Date: 9 - 11Dec
Rate: 218 per night

Upgrade: Relaxation suite.
Received
: Free fast internet. 2 small bottles of water, replenished, Exec Lounge access
Overall: I had 2 reservations, 1 paid for the 9th and one for the 10th & 11th points+pay. Asked at check-in if they wanted to link them or have me swap rooms & they noted I'd been upgraded to the relaxation suite for the 10/11 stay, checked availability of the 9th, rushed the room cleaning & invited us to wait in the Exec lounge. It would seem it's still possible for Golds to get upgrades in some circumstances.

Indeed.

I've had reservations show suites, only to get a normal exec room at check in.

Yes, you can check your booking the night before and be excited by seeing the upgrade. Then be disappointed on arrival when you don't get it.

Sometimes better not to check the booking the night before.

Was introduced to Jenny, who was working this morning. Still have Justin, Amber, Nitten and Emriye (pronounced Emree).
This was back atthe end of October..

It is now up to a 100% staff change though a few are still at the hotel.

Tonight there was Amanda (new team leader) and Jenny.

I assume Amber & Emriye are still there, just not on property when you were there in the Exec Lounge?

MrsF & I have to be in Sydney Hilton tomorrow night (attending the Dr Who Symphonic at the Opera House) & as an experiment, I have booked two rooms. One in her name, one in mine, both at the best avail rate of $199.

Myself (Diamond) and Mr Fifa (Gold) booked 2 x rooms at Sydney Hilton in October.
Despite my profile requesting a room away from lifts I was directly opposite them
Mr Fifa's room was further up the hall in the quiet area!
No upgrades were given but both had exec lounge access. (I have had more stays at this hotel btw).

So, there appears to be no rhyme nor reason in their room allocation :?:

Property: Hilton On The Park Melbourne
Date: 15 - 16 Dec
Rate: 130 per night (F&F rate recently announced)
Room: King Deluxe
(couldn't bring myself to book the bottom level room, $130 seemed like a v.good deal given my Virgin complimentary Diamond status and I don't like to be greedy).
Upgrade: Relaxation suite (room 214, I think)
Received
: 2 complimentary bottles of water, welcome card. I wasn't offered late checkout or internet, had to ask for it when I was in the exec lounge later on. No newspaper offered either (though could have picked one up in the lounge). Loved that the relaxation suite had the gate to directly access the pool area, made for very easy access, though they need to fix the sliding door as it was rather worn and took a fair bit of effort to get to open/close, I initially thought it was locked to not open but stuck at it a bit longer and got it to work. No offer of breakfast apart from in the lounge (I didn't ask about it).

Seemed a bit quiet, but I prefer that (especially after my mistake of going up to the Gold Coast when Schoolies was on a few weeks ago and the Hilton felt swarmed upon, so I just stayed clear of the pool etc entirely).

I'm starting to wonder a bit about the effectiveness of cleaners in hotels. I stayed at the Rendezvous on Friday night and found used shampoo containers left the bathroom and then on the Saturday found the previous occupants swipe card envelope (what is the proper name for it? The folded paper/cardboard that the room keys are issued in) sitting on the table, so the cleaner must have had a pretty cursory glance indeed. Not that it felt dirty, but just made me wonder what else they had missed.

Showers without screens/doors weird me out a bit too, reminds me of showers at public swimming pools. So even though it was a lovely bathroom, it did feel a bit odd when I did shower. Overall, a very nice stay and I did find the relaxation suite relaxing, a nice escape, I just wonder if the pool stays pleasant in cooler months even though the hotel guide seems to suggest it is warm all year round.

nice hotel and I like it for convenience being attached to KL Sentral. will stay here instead of doubletree KL
Appreciate your thoughts on the KL Hilton vs Doubletree. I stay at the KL Hilton fairly regularly and was thinking of trying the doubletree but after your review think I will stick with the Hilton. They have always looked after me very well there, last time I think I got the same upgrade as you, very nice suite/room.

Cheers
