How do Hilton treat you as an Elite?

Anyone have recent experience with Conrad Koh Samui in terms of diamond treatment given there is no exec lounge? Do they have something else on offer? Paging @boomy who I think has been there a few times if I'm not mistaken.

In terms of diamond benefits you should expect anything between 1-3 levels upgrade depends on occupancy and length of stay. Complementary breakfast and half price coughtails during happy hour.

If you end up going there then make sure to book dinner at Jahn. The food is great and they have a decent wine list.

From what I can gather though, rooms are basically all the same, just different views? Am I missing something?

I also just received a response when I asked the hotel directly what's on offer for diamonds.

  1. Complimentary breakfast for two person
  2. 25 % Discount on F&B (Exc.In Villa Dining)
3. Extra 2,500 points by using Spa voucher, when spend more than USD125 for spa

4. Room upgrade, early check in and late check-out is subject to room availability

5. Chef amenity set up upon arrival

To be, seems pretty lacklustre really. Nothing extra there for no exec lounge. It's just the standard offering apart from number 5, which I doubt is going to make up for the lack of lounge.

Most villas are the same size, some are bigger but don’t expect complementary upgrade to any of them.

Typical resort, doesn’t give much extra benefits. The villas are very nice though and it’s good value if you can book 4 stay 5 nights using points.

Thank you all and also @Katie who had a LQS review as well. Hard bed is definitely a turn off. Will have a chat with Mrs excel about what to do!
Ended up at LQS as diamond (probably my last hilton stay as diamond!)
Upgraded first night from base king to superior and then deluxe king. On second night, asked if a room with bath was available, and was upgraded to a king studio suite for 2nd and 3rd nights.
Only continental breakfast (upgrade is $10) and coffee tax enforced.

Coincidentally as I changed my booking on the website a slew of SLH hotels have come into the system for Australia!

Most notably the Chalets at Blackheath (one of the most expensive hotels in Australia) starts at 100k HH points and its a standard room reward. Outsized value if you are using the FNCs. Well.. for now.

Edit: Looks like there is a full rollout of SLH hotels now.

I’ve never stayed at a Hilton in Singapore before. Does anyone have any recommendations? I have a one night stopover with a full day on either side and I’d quite like to use points. Currently it’s 70k for Conrad Orchard, 65k for Hilton orchard and 83k for Conrad centennial. I’m Diamond HH and particularly like a good exotic breakfast spread.

I love the Conrad Centennial.
Great Exec lounge, brilliant breakfast buffet in the restaurant and the standard Exec rooms are large.
Suites nicer but don’t always get an upgrade to one.

Have to agree - well worth the extra points. As a Diamond I have (so far) always been upgraded. Not much difference upgrading to Exec room but as PF mentions the suites are excellent. Great evening canapés in exec lounge but breakfast in the main restaurant (Oscar’s) is great.

Totally agree. Orchard is okay but no where as welcoming. IMHO

Nice hotel , good breakfast in Loungue, nice evening canapes, and a free 4pm checkout
Got a stay coming up this weekend at this hotel.
Amazing to hear that they provided you a generous late checkout.
Did you have to ask for it at check-in or is it standard for Diamond members?

A 4pm checkout would be really nice after running a half marathon in the morning :)

Agree with others; Conrad Centennial is where it’s at. Have stayed a number of times and always well looked after. Breakfast in Oscar’s is great, the lounge nice - though often quite busy at coughtail and breakfast peak - and you’re also in a much better position than the other properties for checking out a few ‘touristy’ things on foot, as well as having close enough connections though to a few malls and the MRT.

Cheers,
Matt.

This talk of Conrads reminds me, I forgot to post a report last week for Conrad Las Vegas.

In a word, don't.

For those that don't know, the entire resort (Resorts World Las Vegas) is managed by Hilton, with three different properties (Hilton, Conrad and Crockfords (LXR)). They are all co-located, Crockfords effectively just being the upper floors of Conrad.

As for the Conrad where I stayed, It shouldn't be a Conrad. It is barely a Hilton. Pretty rude customer service, completely forget about bears and ducks. The F&B credit is not property wide, and only applies to a single sports bar. No market or room service charges permitted. On my stay, tips were not taken from the credit. The room is nice-ish, but only in the way a newly built Hilton is nice. It's nothing outstanding, so I don't really get why it's a Conrad.

Reviews for the Hilton are much worse, so perhaps should be a HGI. I have heard Crockfords is pretty good, but at that price you can do better elsewhere.

The location on the strip is quite remote so you're going to be getting Ubers/Taxis if you want to go somewhere else. For similar money you can stay at equally nice resorts in centre strip. In fact I have stayed at Hilton Elara (HGV) which is just behind Planet Hollywood, and that was much nicer with way better customer service.

Fortunately I only had one night here as a filler in between two different comp'd stays elsewhere, both of which were much better. In particular I'd say Cosmo is the bee's knees (go for the fountain view balcony room).

Next Hotel Melbourne Curio Collection by Hilton
Booked: Next Queen Room
Received: Executive Club King One Bedroom Suite

Received pack of Koko Black chocolate coated almonds in the room. Breakfast was in the lounge. I was in a hurry and most of the hot options were fully depleted and/or looking very sad. They seemed to be refreshed 15mins later as I was leaving. Did not get to experience drinks. Overall lovely hotel if the price is right.

I will say, both Melbourne Executive Lounges don’t really hit the mark for me, just kind of a bit meh. Noting of course that is a worldwide trend.

All stays as Diamond in July ‘24

Next Hotel Melbourne
Booked Next Level Twin Room
Received Club One Bedroom Suite

Received Koko chocolates and a welcome note. Evening lounge service was rather good with a great spread and various spirits and wines available. Breakfast in the restaurant was À la cart and nil coffee tax. Overall a really nice hotel and welcomed addition to the Hilton portfolio in Melbourne.

Doubletree Flinders St
Booked King Loft
Received King Loft

Room was ready around 10am, was on a wine tour so didn’t really spend much time at the hotel. Breakfast was food, no upgrade for Diamonds for the buffet it seems. Coffee tax was somewhat enforced (some of our group were charged and others were not).

Ummm... one time, we were in the lift, and one of the buttons lit up (not our floor) and the door opened with no one there...
Re Conrad St James lifts. I stayed last month and the lift button for my floor did light up by itself when I got in, I thought it was all part of the service 😂

Great stay, lovely hotel and location will definitely stay again.

Stay August 2024

Next Curio by Hilton Melbourne
Booked: base level room x 2
Received: Executive Club 1 Bedroom Suite x 2

Tiny box of Koko chocolates. Breakfast only available in Club lounge which was pretty good this time. Coffee machine was broken but lounge staff got me a barista latte in a disposable cup. Overheard a different staffer deny others a coffee so… ymmv.

Really like the style of this hotel, look forward to trying the evening coughtails one day.
