How do Hyatt treat you as an Elite?

Well the good thing is that Park Hyatts treat everyone well.

If you're only Gold, just book a Virtuoso or FHR package. Close enough to Diamond!

That's when I first appreciated them.. The welcome I got at the PH Paris.. Not staying as a guest.. Just came in for champagne and the service made me think "the next time I come to Paris I have to stay there ".. The affair continues :)

not an "elite", just normal gold simpleton for hyatt. stayed at times square hyatt and got upgraded to a deluxe suite. 3 categories above what i booked, which was nice. didnt push at all, was just offered.

2nd time staying at a hyatt
 
I'm a platinum after staying mostly at the gh nusa dua, when i book rooms there they gove me the minimum upgrade like an ocean view ect.
I know i shouldn't expect suites but it's always in the back of my mind.

Room Booked :Base Room
Room Received: Grand Suite King (using DSU)
Amenity Received: Grapes, Seasoned Nuts and Red Wine (changed to white wine upon request for delivery later tonight)

Think I might have breakfast in the full buffet tomorrow, which costs an extra $20PP for Diamond/Club Guests...I must say, considering Hiltons across Australia give Diamonds full buffet across Aus, it would be nice for Hyatt to do the same.

Received: Regency Executive Suite

It was more service recovery than upgrade. The original suite I got, although it was on non-smoking floor, had strong smell of cigarettes. Wasn't happy with it at all and then got further upgrade to executive suite on the top floor which was much bigger and impressive with stunning views of Central.

Edit: Diamond benefits were bowl of fruit, bottle of wine and two nice looking tins of Chinese tea. 4pm checkout was also offered.

Received: grand suite king, email in advance seeking arrival time and offering (paid) transportation, four mini tarts, about 20 bottles of water over the three day stay, lounge access, breakfast in restaurant, welcome note, evening turndown.

Good price Danger. I'm there on Friday and can never seem to find rates lower than $350ish. Managed to get it down to $300 using the Best Rate Guarantee though.

Mine was also a BRG. The base rate was something like SGD226. In typical Hyatt fashion they buggered it up and it actually shouldn't have been that low. Our dollar is strengthening against theirs too right now.

Nice work. Where did you find the lower rate to match? I always use Trivago with varying degrees of success matching Booking.com or Expedia rates.

Room Booked: Base Room and used DSU for Grand Suite King
Room Received: Diplomatic Suite 140SqM
Amenity Received: Bottle of red wine, nuts and grapes.

First stay here as a diamond. I was walked from reception to the lift, which was nice even if unnecessary .

This Suite is seriously big. The bathroom has a large spa bath flanked on either side by two separate showers. Two three seaters and two armchairs in the lounge area and a table for 10 in the dining room. When I finally went to bed I gave up trying to find all the light switches and just left some on.

There is a good selection of food in the lounge in the evening, but the two hot foods were brought around by staff intermittently missing many people each pass, me included.
I have another stay here for three nights in June. Pity its extra for breakfast downstairs.

GH Melbourne are generally a bit stingy with upgrades, but they really do pull out the big upgrades when the hotel is full.
 
Hopefully they will be full again in June for my three night stay.
Colour me jealous! 2X Stays on DSU and still been with the DSU suite... Even asked about further upgrade options last stay and they asked me for $1500 extra a night for the Diplomatic Suite. Lucky you!
 
I received a survey this morning from Grand Hyatt Melbourne, which I duly completed, and about 30 minutes later received an email from the Assistant Director of Food & Beverage asking me to reply with specifics that were not up to my expectations.

This is the first time I have ever been asked to comment on a survey I have filled in for a Hotel.

From others experiences is this common place?

Those surveys are bloody annoying, so really good to see them following up straight away. Makes me think it's worth doing them as I usually ignore them, assuming a human will never read it.

The metrics have automatic response mechanisms in place at Hyatt and *wood. Low scores will require a specific customer service recovery from the relevant department.
