Might need to change your name. Looks good. Is it subterranean?Moving into our "new" (built 1906) Sydney house in a few weeks. Has multiple cellars, I'm reserving these 2 (that's a corrugated cement, not iron, ceiling in one. Might get insulation ceiling for the other). Blank canvas to work with.
Ha, "where do you live?" is a bit of a problem question of me, I retain the Brissy name and sometimes home despite Qld Premier's efforts.Might need to change your name. Looks good. Is it subterranean?
Too high could promote mould / cause mouldy labelsHa, "where do you live?" is a bit of a problem question of me, I retain the Brissy name and sometimes home despite Qld Premier's efforts.
Yes subterranean, and damp... old building "standards" simple flagstone flooring in this area. I know a bit of humidity/damp is supposed to be a +ve for wine storage but I guess immaterial for stelvin sealed wine.
Whats ideal conditions?Too high could promote mould / cause mouldy labels
I don’t know the recommended humidity, but if the bottles in your family cellar haven’t been getting mouldy i Woul not bother.Whats ideal conditions?
I'd like to check my family cellar. It was 16 degrees, last I checked but never checked humidity and I have a feeling in winter when the heating runs it effects it.
Alot of my father's old wine leaked, however these bottles are from 1980. I think they showed signs of that around 25-30 years old.
I'd make sure they have it in stock. We ordered a BBQ from them which was promised to be arriving shortly but it never turned up. We had a few calls where we were told - yep there are four coming in in two weeks and one will be yours, but it never happened. We finally got a refund but it took a lot of chasing. Bing Lee has it for $3899 so you might be able to negotiate a bit lower.Looking to buy another vintec... saw one for $3.8k for the 170 bottles. Remember seeing it for $4k a few months ago.

is this a good deal from what you guys have seen in the past?
open to other suggestions too, going into different rooms so don't have to be the same.
It seems for a few $hundred more I can nearly get double the storage with a 320 bottles liebherr. Good proposition! At that budget, personally I’d go for the Liebherr grand cru.

Any other reasons why a liebherr over vintec? Thanks
Thinking of putting it in the living room, thought a glass door may help it look nice.
For the same reason you'd purchase a German car over a Chinese made car.
3 years warranty i saw with a liebherr hope that's a good starting pointI hope German wine fridge doesn’t come with the inflated service costs of a German car
3 years warranty i saw with a liebherr hope that's a good starting point
BTW I was told by the guys in Winning that Liebherr are made in malaysia?
May have to rule out the Grand Cru, the boss wouldnt allow a wine fridge in the living room without a glass door.
I think I've narrowed down to the Liebherr barrique model 168 bottles ($3400) or their standard 168 bottles model ($2800) or the dual zone 154 bottles from ilve ($2500),
all of them cheaper than the Vintec 170.
Does anyone have experience with those Liebherr model, is it worth the $600 extra to go the Barrique model ?
and is the ILVE too good to be true? seems bit cheap for a dual zone wine fridge
My Vintec died after a few year. Never had a Liebherr but that will be a reason to pick the German one for me!It seems for a few $hundred more I can nearly get double the storage with a 320 bottles liebherr. Good proposition!

I just got two new Ilve’s - my friend works for them and told me they have taken over the old vintec european manufacturing factory and the quality is apparently very good! I’ve been exceptionally happy with them thus far.3 years warranty i saw with a liebherr hope that's a good starting point

We have the 168 Barrique 4113 and it's been great, looks good - so would work for the living room (I tried but wasn't allowed anything in living or dining ).Does anyone have experience with those Liebherr model, is it worth the $600 extra to go the Barrique model ?

Hi @paddywideMy Vino Vault just failed last week. It has been working 13 years. I expected it will work forever just like a normal fridge. Quite annoying, The compressor is working. Before the whole back panel is cold, now it is only the palm-size area cold.
I need to buy a replacement asap. I was tended to buy the Costco one as I thought the have forever warranty until I read some posts from ozbargain and whirlpool. They don't. I just want a cheap one. Does anyone have a suggestion?
I may go for Devanti Devanti WCB155BBK 155 Bottles Wine Cooler for sale online | eBay
