Booked an Easter break for the family (2 pre-teen kids) for 4 nights. It is impossible to book through Accor website (same for all accommodation at Ayres Rock Resort) so booked directly with hotel by phone. Airport coach transfers are included in the price. Accor Plus status was honoured for meals at the hotel and neighbouring Desert Gardens hotel with the usual confusion of whether kids meals are included for the discount or not (I usually find that the discount is better if one of the adult main courses is free). Platinum status was honoured with complimentary breakfast ($48 per adult, $24 per child) but I had to request it every morning. They offer a takeaway breakfast for guests on sunrise tours but this is not included as a benefit to ALL members. Rooms are good, there are free activities for the kids. There is a nearby small cinema showing 2 films per day on a rotating basis, and a decent resort-style pool (but wait for the water to warm up under the sun). Resort "Town Square" including souvenir shops, IGA supermarket and further eateries a short walk away. Free shuttle bus to the other hotels, backpacker lodge (which has a pub and bottleshop on site), camp ground and camel farm/tours. Overall a well run and designed hotel, expect to pay higher prices as befits remoteness.

Welcome gift: Not sure. Was given some chocolate at check-in. Also had some fresh fruit delivered to my room which I requested when they reached out a couple of days prior. To be honest, I don't need a $10 bottle of wine so happy with the fruit.

Good for when you need a kitchen and laundry. Breakfast was a choice of one main dish from a set menu plus two drinks. The main dish I got was pretty average. The pool was hilariously small. Nothing more than a plunge pool.

Large room with a mini kitchen. I guess the art part is because of a couple of paintings on the wall. Breakfast was a la carte. I was told that platinums can order anything off the menu. The main dish here was good, like what you would get at a nice cafe. The pool was directly on top of the footpath!

Modern spacious suite with excellent views of the city and the river. Breakfast was buffet and I was shocked to find no scrambled eggs. In its place was a mysterious muffin shaped egg mixture patty.

Room upgraded/type: Not sure if its considered an upgrade - I got standard room on the executive lounge floor
Rate: $200 flexible rate

I was surprised at the modern touches in the room including the magic bathroom glass wall. Executive lounge wasn't huge but food and drink was plentiful. I rank the buffet breakfast here as the best one I've been to in Melbourne so far. Not many buffets offer self serve fried, scrambled, boiled and poached eggs all at once.

Amazing new property. I can still smell the fresh hotel vibe. Doing a DSC run, so out early tomorrow. Nice to get 2 vouchers and the upgrade to the executive lounge.

Minibar is free (sans alcoholic drinks) but probably prefer to get a drink at the lounge. I appreciated that they had a universal plug adapter. Great tarmac views. Will be my to go to property moving forward

I chose the Novotel cos the rate for the Novotel was higher that day and I get the luxury to redeem my free stay at either of those so picked the no-brainer option (also got upgraded to the highest room type with direct tarmac view and its sorrounding delta/marshland however no executive rooms or lounges). It also feels like a new hotel but not as new as the Pullman...The road less travelled...

Same, same here. Just a quick update on the canapes, large platters, we two were brought one each, and we sent one back as too much. There were originally four spring rolls per platter.

No I chose the Novotel because it was priced higher that day so I was getting more value for my free night as opposed to choosing Pullman

Weird I never get welcome gifts for the high end hotels I stay at (specifically Sofitels and Pullmans) that I stay at and if I do they are more often they are soda water as opposed to wine. If I do get welcome gifts I usually get it from the check in desk. But I would get room upgrades (on rare instances up to a suite even). But then I usually book same day so maybe they don't have time to prepare my room. Mantra and Sebel on the other hand are more consistent with their welcome gifts.

A lot of hotels do that stuff either in the morning, or in some cases paperwork is prepared overnight during some quiet periods.

I’m guessing it’s generic text as no exec lounge is listed on website, nor on the Accor listing of hotels that have an Exec lounge.

There is no club lounge at Pullman International Cairns but it probably has the best hotel lobby in CaIrns. I have found that it treats Gold/Platinum guests well with upgrades to one of the recently renovated rooms or a corner room

And I recall the breakfast was excellent.

Non reno floors (above L13) are quite dated but plat welcome gift and welcome drink options were good. Breakfast was about what I'd expect at a Pullman.

If you end up staying, there's a lovely restaurant just behind the property called Four Cinq, and a hole in the wall brewery Coral Sea just around the corner.

We are stopping over in Singapore for 1 night on our way home from Europe. I have booked at the Mercure Icon, a new hotel, but really mainly for the location and price. But the reviews by members on AFF and elsewhere are awful. So I am looking at staying elsewhere.

I am looking at the Novotel Singapore on Kitchener reasonable rates (we only need one night). It's in Little India and on our last visit to Singapore my husband bought the "best" leather belt there he has owned (his quote), and would like to get another). So I am thinking of staying there, its a short taxi/grab ride to Chinatown or satay street for our evening or maybe we will eat in little India or the Arab area.

Has anyone stayed there/ or in the area?

If it's a one night stay I don't think it matters too much. Like you say, you can Grab anywhere you'd like to go for dinner, and the Grab from the airport will be slightly cheaper anyway.

Decent enough stay. Staff tried hard and were polite and helpful but seemed a bit disjointed and not as good as our last stay here some years back. Informed at check in that we had been upgraded to a balcony room but no welcome gift initially. About an hour after we arrived staff knocked on the door and apologised and offered us extra drinks vouchers as a sorry and thanks.
Nice enough bar to have a few drinks but the property was fairly busy and breakfast was utter chaos both mornings to the point on day 2 we left and went down the street for a coffee. The views are really what makes the hotel though as the rooms are fairly basic IMO. We grabbed a few drinks and sat on the balcony and watched even though it was bitterly cold

This is our regular go to at LHR and I’ve always found it a solid option without blowing you away. Got in late and left very early next day so really only needed a place to sleep. Didn’t get to visit the lounge or have breakfast. Staff were great and check in and out a breeze. Bit tight on their welcome gift and rooms showing a bit of wear of tear but still comfortable. Location is fantastic and Sixt has their branch right at the entry so we booked our hire car with them to go see the rellies. Will no doubt return again
