Another excellent 2 night stay here and once again the service was great. Upgraded to the brilliant Sky Suite which gives great views of the city. Used our welcome drinks at Vertigo which offers amazing rooftop views. Breakfast was fantastic, smallish buffet but could choose as much as you wanted from the menu. Had a great Beef Rendang on the outdoor terrace. Prompt check in and check out and staff were impeccable for whole stay. Will definitely be back.

Booked this property for 3 nights against better judgement as we had a large group on holidays together and moving into a Villa together once everyone arrived. We were all coming over at different times and at the suggestion of some others we booked this property. I will start with the positives and that is the room views are pretty darn good and the staff were mostly great. Large breakfast areas with not a bad spread. The property itself isn’t too bad with some decent pools and bars. Now the negatives. Check in is at 3pm and we arrived just before 3pm to be told our rooms weren’t ready yet. OK no problems I’ll have a drink at the bar and relax. Room was finally ready at 4:45pm which is quite frankly pretty poor. No upgrade offered as a Diamond and told hotel is full for school holidays but was offered 10x drinks vouchers as a sweetener for being a Diamond member. Welcome gift was a bit average but no problem with that. Room whilst offering great views and having a decent cooling system had beds that were harder than the floor and absolutely uncomfortable to the point one night I grabbed extra towels from housekeeping to use as padding. Being located right on Legian beach meant that very little sleep was had on any night as the soundproofing is substandard and the constant fireworks and motorbikes throughout the night made sleeping impossible.
Was very happy to get out of there and into our Villa and definitely won’t be returning to this property. Will be giving suitable feedback to management on the stay

Glad you found some positives in the stay but your mention of the noise and rock hard bed is certainly making me questioning my stay later this month, again, although i didn't book this room so maybe i'll get lucky in the back corner. My thinking was to book somewhere sort of central to keep it easy but not if we can't sleep well for the 5 nights. Thanks for the review!

Welcome gift: 2x still water and socks!

Fantastic hotel! Easy to walk to from terminals, airport views, good restaurant, friendly staff and nice rooms. But the real jewel of this hotel is the gym. The gym is easily better than most stand alone gyms I have ever used. The range of equipment is huge, duplicated and high quality. IMG_0167.jpeg

On our last night stay there were people launching fireworks off the roof of our hotel at 0345 on a Tuesday night. 😡😡

Sounds like you did not take advantage of shuttle or parking, if you did though, your thoughts?

Great to see another Novotel Airport hotel providing take away socks as a gift. Here are my pair from the Novotel Montréal Airport when I stayed in July:

What on earth?? It's been a while since i've been to Bali, but i don't recall fireworks being all that common, maybe i've just never stayed this close to the beach before. Hmm

On the beach they go off every hour or so for about 30-40 seconds at a time. Sounds like rapid shot gunfire. Maybe the rooms at the back of the property are shielded from the noise

I used the shuttle to T1 for a 6.20am flight when I stayed a few weeks ago. Leaves every 20 minutes, booked the night before, left on time. As gaz0303 says it is only a 10-15 walk but the shuttle is handy if you have bags or is cold/hot/raining.

Property: Playford MGallery Adelaide
Status: Accor Plus Gold
Room booked: Deluxe Room
Room upgraded/type: Yes, North Terrace Junior Suite
Rate: approx $270 per night, prepaid due to special event (not sure what the event was)
Free internet: Yes
Early check in/late out: Checked in at 130pm.
Welcome drink: Yes, digital x 2. Choice of wines on free drink list was limited so I didn’t use with dinner but redeemed for morning barista coffee and pot of tea.
Welcome gift: block of local chocolate and small bottle of decent red wine.
Notes: This is our second stay. After the first visit in 2023 I emailed positive feedback to Accor GM (I usually prefer this to filling out the online survey). This was passed on to hotel and a manager got in touch with me to thank me and advise he would be happy to look after me next stay and organise a free upgrade.

I followed up before this stay to confirm the upgrade and the upgrade came through as promised. Only the rooms facing on to north terrace have any sort of outlook and this junior suite was just perfect with small lounge and dining area as well as big bathroom. The upgrade was probably worth around $400 for out stay so was a nice perk for a lowly gold member. We had a high floor so couldn’t hear any street noise apart from trams from time to time but only if you listened closely. In any case the bedroom is internal to the room so you can close the sliding doors into the lounge as well.

Hotel restaurant is excellent and we had dinner there twice as well as breakfast each day. Good recognition of accor plus and good service on each occasion. I was sorry the mussels had come off the menu for dinner but the seafood pasta was just beautiful as was the steak. For breakfast they will make you fresh eggs or an omelette so don’t forget to ask if this is of interest to you. I saw a few people doing this and we always ask although they don’t proactively offer it.

Does anyone know if the “in-house guests only” on weekends is actually enforced for Sofitel Brisbane buffet breakfast?

I have an Accor breakfast for two voucher to use before the end of the year.

We stayed there in March for a family gathering in a 2br @austgap
Staff were delightful and particularly helpful when we had an aircon issue.
When unable to rectify this, offered a change of apartment.
We were promptly given a choice of three apartments and interesting to note, very different in their furnishings, two quite dated but very clean.
Would be happy to return.

I have called recently and had the in house guests only policy confirmed. Some time ago we attempted to walk in on a weekend and were turned away. So, it has been enforced in my experience.

I stay here on a regular basis, usually a Friday night and I usually will sit in the lobby area waiting for my +1 to return from her morning walk and I will often see people walk in from outside and go towards the restaurant area and not return. They are maybe meeting an inhouse guest and going to breakfast with them or are able to be seated. The Hotel is not really busy on a Friday night but the restaurant is usually quite busy. IMO more people eating than in house guests 🥱

Property: Pullman Palm Cove Sea Temple
Status: Accor Plus Platinum
Room booked: 3 bedroom villa with plunge pool
Room upgraded/type: No, we booked the highest category
Rate: approx $837 per night for 8 nights (6 adults & 1 toddler), flexible rate
Free internet: Yes, but really poor (seems to be an ongoing issue that they have no intention of fixing)
Early check in/late out: Not required.
Free Breakfast: Yes, for 6 adults. Children under 5 eat breakfast free
Welcome drink: Yes, digital x 7

Fabulous 2 storey villa that is advertised as an apartment with a photo of a bedroom. The photo on the Accor app and website doesn’t do it justice. Great for a large group with huge master suite, 2 king bedrooms and a second bathroom upstairs. Downstairs includes lounge, dining, 3rd toilet, well equipped kitchen and a second sitting area near the entrance plus plunge pool, bbq and outdoor dining.

A lot of the apartments are rented privately so not many people at breakfast.
Unfortunately the restaurant Temple of Tastes is currently closed on Sunday and Monday evenings.

Accor Plus discount can be used for lunch and early dinner at the pool bar until 5.30pm and in the restaurant.

3 pools including freeform, short lap pool and fabulous kids pool.

Easy walk into the main street of Palm Cove.

Property: Hotel Morris - Handwritten Collection
Status: Accor Plus Platinum
Room booked: Bambina room with 1 queen size bed
Room upgraded/type: Double upgrade at check-in to Morris Queen with 1 Queen Bed
Rate: Accor Plus Red Hot Rooms - $109.50
Welcome Gift: Bottle of white wine
Free internet: Yes. Free Premium for Accor members, free non-preimum for non-members
Early check in/late out: N/A
Free Breakfast: Yes - buffet and a-la carte (see below)
Welcome drink: Yes, digital x 2

Just got back from a one night staycation at the Hotel Morris which is located on Pitt St in Sydney, roughly between Central and Gadigal Metro stations. Hotel was booked alongside a 10% cash back offer so all in all coming into the stay with pretty good value.

Check-in was prompt with reception thanking me for being a Platinum guest and letting me know I was double upgraded two categories to a nicer room. Check out was at 11 and I didn't have a need to stay any longer, although I suspect I could've gotten late check out if I needed to.

The hotel itself would best be described as boutique. If you are looking for a cookie cutter hotel like a Novotel or ibis, this hotel ain't for you. At the same time, the hotel does lack some amenities you would find at other hotels like exercise facility. With that being said, the quality of the rooms and service was top notch, and certainly worth more than the $109.50 I paid for this stay:

IMG_2921.jpeg

A welcome gift greeted me, namely a chilled bottle of DeBortoli Legacy Sauvignon Blanc (750 ml) which was promptly dried and put in the suitcase:
IMG_2922.jpeg

The bathroom, whilst a bit on the small side was clean and functional, with them having a shower rather than the dreaded shub:
IMG_2926.jpeg

For those curious of charging, there are two power outlets on each side of the bed, with the addition of a USB-A and USB-C charge ports. Additionally, there was a power outlet below the TV and beside the coffee maker. The room had a Nespresso machine with 4 Nespresso pods (2 decaf and 2 lungo) along with a kettle and the usual accompaniment of teas, hot chocolate and Nescafe.

Breakfast was free and served until 10 AM and consisted of two parts for Platinum members like myself. First, you selected a hot breakfast item from a menu (along with whatever tea/cofee you want), then after you order there was a small buffet with fruits, pastries, cereal, yogurt, bread, water, juices:

All in all, between the cash back, the Qantas Points I'll earn, the bottle of wine, breakfast and the decent room, I think the booking overall represented great value. And to answer the question of this thread, yes I would indeed agree that Hotel Morris does treat you well as a Platinum.
