How does Accor treat you as an Elite guest?

Looks like a Pullman is finally coming to Perth....at the airport
I do think the Pullman at Perth airport is quite a few years too late, with the train now it's just a 20 min ride to the city centre so it's not as needed as it used to be.

I meant more from the perspective that PER has rubbish Accor hotels with a Novotel being the best currently. Would be good to see something like a Pullman or Sofitel open in the city or somewhere central.
To be fair, that Novotel (Murrary Street) is pretty great. There's the Adnate Art Series as well, though it's pretty much the same as the Novotel and doesn't earn as many points or cashback when you stay there.

I'd love to see the Perth Intercontinental rebrand as Sofitel.

If you're referring to the CBD proper, then yes I will concede that they could use a Sofitel or something nicer than what they have. From the two Accors I stayed at in the CBD (ibis Styles and a Novotel) they both seemed a bit tired.

With that being said, there are nicer options outside of the CBD, Tribe Perth King's Park is one such example. They also have some other boutiques in the area like the Wonil Hotel Perth.
Would be good to see something like a Pullman or Sofitel open in the city or somewhere central. Especially with a good restaurant for those with the A+ benefits.
To be perfectly honest, the problem isn't so much the number of luxury hotels but the quality of the hotels they have. I've stayed at Mercure and Novotel hotels that are nice, but so far as I can tell the stuff they have in Perth is long overdue for refurbishment. If these hotels got some TLC they deserve then quite frankly there wouldn't be a need for this discussion at all.

I’m sorry but hard disagree.
I don’t want to stay in Novotel’s if possible and I definitely don’t want to stay any Ibis property unless all options are exhausted. Perth needs a Pullman and/or Sofitel in the CBD

Well despite the earlier warning about the Pullman, i decided to stick with the booking as i needed a stay for Qantas fast track and i couldn't decide on another hotel. Saying that, i think it all went alright! But i can see the other side of it.

The hotel manager emailed a few days out and i replied back that i'd like a quiet room. I also mentioned i had a parcel being sent to me, so if they are able to accept it and hand it over at check in. We didn't arrive until night so no check in issues for me, we were given a nice quiet room on the ground floor just near the ground pool, not sure if my request was considered but happy it worked out either way! Parcel was brought out to me at check in before i could mention it also, awesome!

We couldn't hear the road from the room thankfully. There was some fireworks here and there, but i think we managed to avoid any random after midnight fireworks (Though maybe Saturday night can get crazy?). While we did order a King bed, we walked in to see 2 beds instead. They did promptly fix this up by joining them together with a topper, but a proper king would have been better. The room photos do appear to show this as an option, but hey, bigger bed i guess. Agree that it's not overly comfortable though, but they were happy to provide a 2nd blanket, though it felt weird to not have anything but that.

The rest of the room is fine, i'm still working out the quality difference between each brand but it could certainly be due for some touch ups and tuning. Breakfast buffet has a large range and my partner's A+ was taken easily for breakfast and dinner, happy with this! Service was lovely throughout the hotel

Would stay again! Though i'd definitely try some other locations first.

Nice size single room, plenty of floorspace when compared to many other hotels. Also a small kitchenette with sink and fridge. Great balcony with ocean views and chairs and table. Buildings in front are pure beach front, but no doubt much more expensive per night. Happy and comfortable.

An update to my last post, turned out to be roadworks overnight on the street right below my room, which I was not aware of. 2 nights out of the 3 night stay it will be. Loud works too with road surface removal. There was a sign in the lift the day of, but once people are here and checked in it’s a little late to change. No mention by the front desk at check in or leading up to the stay.

What are the groups thoughts with saying something on to the hotel on check out? What have your experiences been. I’m a Gold All+ member so my loyalty to the hotel group is clear.

I'd maybe respond to the post-stay survey rather than the hotel at check-out. Chances are the person who processes your check-out will be a low-level staffer who has no real authority to do anything, nor the inclination to escalate on your behalf. Additionally, this is one of those situations that is outside the control of the hotel. If the hotel had internal works going on that were going to cause disruption to the guests, then I'd 100% expect them to communicate this.

You could always request to be moved to a higher floor (if at all possible). In terms of Accor providing compensation, I personally wouldn't expect anything other than (potentially) some bonus points. Personally not confident that being Gold All+ will make much difference.

We’ve been staying at the same property, on level 3 overlooking the same street. Neither my wife nor I were kept awake by the roadworks, but our stay wasn’t exactly seamless either: we had to change rooms because the air conditioning wasn’t working in the room we were originally given. We were impressed by the quality of the buffet breakfast, though.

Not the property’s fault, but being smack on the NSW/QLD border also caused some issues — we needed to go into the settings of our phones and turn off auto-time-zone detection to keep the phones from constantly switching between NSW and QLD time!

As for your giving feedback: definitely put it in the email that they ask you to reply to with feedback. And there’s no harm with a polite mention of it on check out. I’ve done this when I’ve had issues with Accor properties in the past, and have occasionally been pleasantly surprised with how they’ve responded (one Sofitel actually waived all our restaurant charges!)

I would’ve asked for my room to be moved giving the roadworks as a reason.

i’ve done that a number of times for instance if a nightclub nearby opens up till late hours.

This was an excellent stay, and the Pullman Orchard is probably my new favourite Singapore hotel.

It was originally supposed to be a mattress run as I was expecting to be one night short of platinum status, and also had a free Stay Plus night after signing up to Accor Plus. However, I was manually credited with 30 nights, and then got 10 nights from a three night stay at the Metropol Hanoi. This meant I stayed here as a platinum.

And, well, I was looked after superbly. I was upgraded into the separate Club Residence wing and, after walking through a pretty psychedelic light tunnel, I was given a nice welcome amenity of fruit, macaroons and cakes.

The room was spacious, tastefully furnished and modern, although there were a few dings on the luggage rack.

The lounge is great with bottomless Singapore Slings and champagne during happy hour (17.00-19.00) both great additions (and the champagne is also on offer for breakfast). The canapes are not quite enough for dinner but do fill a gap, while for breakfast Asian options (like mee rebus) and Western options (like eggs benedict) are both available. The mee rebus is excellent.

Possibly the only disappointment was the choice of welcome drinks at the main bar, where a choice of wine, beer or soft drinks was offered. A can of beer was fine, but a choice from the coughtail menu would've been good.

I have a free breakfast voucher to use before December.

Sofitel don’t accept walk-ins on the weekend, so I’d appreciate advice on the next best option in BNE.

Hoping some of those attending the BNE get together might comment on Accor breakfasts please.
FYI the info on the Sofitel website re: breakfast incorrect.

I called tonight on spec and was told:
Weekday: walk-ins welcome.
Saturday: reservations for non-hotel guests subject to availability.
Sunday: in-house guests only.

No-go for tomorrow, but was able to book a Saturday in a few weeks. 👍

Lounge offering drinks with all those coughtails looks better than the Sofitel City Centre. Plus champagne for breakfast is another plus over it.

Overall, great stay! Needed to overnight before a connecting flight to coughet the next day. This hotel is pretty impressive for a Novotel. Perhaps some of the room furnishings a little dated, general facilities were excellent. A lovely pool with a swim up bar and very well equiped gym and multiple dining options.

While right at the airport and perhaps 250m direct line from where exit the building, you need to take a free shuttle bus as it's not walkable.

We were treated very well. A few days prior I was informed that as a platinum member someone would meet me at the baggage carousel and escort me to the shuttle. Sure enough, there was a guy waiting with a sign with my name. Probably not needed as if they told you which exit to take, you'd easily locate the shuttle. It seems to be on demand rather than a timed shuttle too. Same deal for heading back to the airport. Just let them know the time you wish to depart.

The hotel even has an exec lounge. We were escorted there for check-in. Very generous hours for evening canapes and drinks. Decent food selection and coughtails made to order were of a high quality.

I can't recall where the welcome drink could be used. There was a sports bar where it could be and possible the restaurants but I'm not sure. We opted for a couple of coldies at the pool swim-up bar.

We eyed the lounge for breakfast but decided to go to the restaurant for a bigger variety.

All up, excellent stay.

Have stayed there many times and walked it. Only 5-10 minutes via the underground air conditioned tunnel.
You go down to basement level and towards where the airport train is and veer slightly left. Go past the capsule hotel and then follow the tunnel to the escalators that bring you up at the hotel
