How long for complimentary Car Rental status to come through?

Well done Pushka. I too got my europcar email today. I have completed my registration etc, and am waiting to be upgraded which said will take around 10 business days. The upgrade and the free weekend rental for platinum is great.
It must be email day from europcar.

I got the acknowledgement from Virgin on Saturday and the email from europcar today. :D

Probably worth noting that its a two step process with Europcar, you join the web access then privileges!

I think I have joined up for both - it isnt exactly IT friendly the way they have done this. When you click on to the Privilege icon, it takes you back to the normal webpage where you sign up for web access. Any clues as to whether both processes have been completed?

I do know that the Velocity membership details appear in the Account settings so I presume it is all good.

Got the email on the 14th, still very confused about the whole thing but it does say Welcome to your Privilege Club summary page. I have a couple of Europcar bookings in there already and wouldn't mind the complimentary upgrade

I don't think we're the only ones slightly confused by all this either.

I've just hired two rentals from Europcar and both times I mentioned the scheme to them (one @ Melb Airport and 1 @ Southern Cross Station). Both times they said I have a note on my file from Nicile R. (who I'm assuming we've all recieved an email from) stating I was a "privelege" customer. Upon asking which tier, I got the impression from both, that they didn't realise there were tiers.....just "privilege" members.

Upside? I got an upgrade boith times without question. Both times from the booked auto Hyundai Getz, to an Audi A3.......so I'm a happy motorhead! The future......who knows?

Hope the upgrade comes through soon as far as status goes, the extra discount is a big bonus. I got an upgrade as well to a new Xtrail :).
 
Upgraded yesterday again in MKY from a i30 to a Forester, so it does seem to be working although the guy in MKY was able to tell me I am listed as Privilege Club....not yet Privilege Executive.

The 10 business days notified in the email from Europcar ran out on Tuesday, so now to see how long it does take!
 
Also upgraded by Hertz in PER on Monday. From a Camray to a V6 Commodore which will probably double my fuel bill.

Yes, on the Europcar Privilege web site, but it doesn't say how many levels, just "we'll upgrade your car-free".

My upgrades have been so far, from base auto level to "4WD level" on one occasion and "Luxury level" on the other two occasions.

Could be interesting, I'll see what I get in Germany next year as the ones they offer there are quite cool :cool:

We have booked a Mercedes A car for France next year - quite looking forward to that so not sure if we will take the upgrade! :shock:
I have rebooked it since the membership came through and the price dropped by around $50 now, so will rebook again when the proper upgrade notice comes in.

Has anybody had their status online upgraded yet for Europcar? Mine is still Privilege Club.

FWIW, the Europcar upgrade seems to be running pretty smoothly.

Mine came through within 4 days, and then I emailed that confirmation to A-Club who upgraded me to gold within 2 days.

So all up, less than a week to get both a Rental Car AND Hotel status upgrade!

Well that's wonderful for you! I'm clocking up about 5 weeks so far and still nothing except an email 3 weeks ago for Europcar saying it will be processed within 2 weeks :(.

Not just that, but out of my last 4 rentals, only 2 show as "qualifying" status rentals (which appears to be a new field in the Privilege web site), yet all four show up as "completed" rentals. All 4 rentals were booked through the Europcar web site and funnily enough, the two they've listed as "qualifying" were the two cheapest rentals????

I can't work that out. Why is so difficult getting promised benefits, delivered?
