How long for complimentary Car Rental status to come through?

I've checked directly on the Europcar site and I got about a 10% disc for being logged on as opposed to not being logged on. This is half the advertised 20% disc, but the wording actually says "up to 20%".

I think its important to point out in relation to the discount: * Up to 20% discount

The UP TO part has been raised before, but I've been thinking something else right now, due to my Europcar Privilege Club card arriving in the mail today. The card that's only just arrived is Privilege Club, not Privilege Executive (obviously Europcar has the same penchant that DJ has, for sending out superceded cards......late ;)), but what has me thinking is that my discounts have been about 10%......which is the discount applicable to CLUB members rather than EXECUTIVE members. Perhaps, even though our on-line profile shows our status, the computer is not recognising it. I've had previous stand offs with Europcars computer system (which is a sanga short of a picnic) so this would not in the least surprise me.

Got my Hertz Gold five star yesterday, registered first day of offer.

I am not getting any discount registered at all. The card that came today is the Executive card not the starter one.

Try some test bookings. Domestic and closer to today's date and see if a discount is applied.

Ozmille has already tested my booking in her account and she gets the discount applied but when I do it in my account there is no difference.

Ok, I used Explorer this time so no cookies. I did the quote not being logged in as follows:

And then logged in, and Hubby's name is up the top, and got the same quote!

This is very weird indeed, I do get the Elite discount but you should still get the 20%. When you search for the car does it say you are moddifying booking ******* I have noticed that when doing the rebooking of some of my bookings and I did not get any discount applied when that line was on top.

Yesterday I got the Europcar Privilege club card in the mail.......todays postie brought me a Europcar Privilege Executive card!

I wonder if tomorrow, I'll get a hat trick with a Europcar Privilege Elite ;).

As an aside,

- a rental on 18-9-11 had points posted on 28-9-11 (10 days or 7 working days),

- a rental on 21-9-11 posted on 11-10-11 (20 days or 14 working days),

- a rental on 20-9-11 is yet to post points.

the rentals on 18-9 and 20-9 are both listed on "My Europcar" as qualifying rentals but the rental on 21-9 is not. Both earlier rentals were MEL but the later (non-qualifying) rental was MKY, so what's the deal, I wonder? Query sent to europcar weeks ago but no response to date.

Here's another data point for Europcar.

Requested match late October; received email regarding Privilege enrolment and setting up driver profile 8 business days later, advising upgrade within 10 further business days following enrolment; heard nothing back so emailed back on day 8 to see if there was anything else I needed to do, and promptly received notification of the upgrade - pretty happy overall with the process.

Now a question - how have you those of you who are Privilege Elite found the category upgrade to work? Was tempted to book an Audi for an upcoming weekend booking, but as I won't need any more than an intermediate, thinking I might just book the cheaper car and see what comes of it.

I have booked a normal sedan on the last 4 occasions after my upgrade to elite, and on all occasions I have been upgraded into either an A4 or A6.

Update: just yesterday, received the points for the rental on 20-9-11 (after another retroclaim to both DJ and Europcar). The other rental still does not show as a "qualifying" rental but FWIW I also tend to believe Eurocar has had issues with either their new(ish) privilege web site or with the DJ arrangement.

My two recent rentals of a week and a half ago (although still waiting for points from one of them), have both attracted the full 20% advertised discount and both show separately as qualifying rnetals and qualifying days (unlike my rental from September which are all grouped together for qualifying and all only attracted the 10% discount). It seems it just needed the fullness of time to sort itself out.

Out of the five rentals I've made since being comped "executive", four have been upgraded. The one that wasn't was from Surfers depot, which doesn't hold many cars at the best of time but was an i20 rather than a Getz. Europcar doesn't show an i20 on their vehicle list so I'm assuming these are replacing the Getz (which is great as they're a far nicer vehicle).

Update - booked a standard and did indeed get upgraded to the A4. So far so good Europcar. :)
