How long for complimentary Car Rental status to come through?

Maybe some level of inundation

Yes I agree with that statement and understand it totally. I'm more wondering about why only two rentals from four are posted as qualifying rentals and with the some of the reported problems of late getting points awarded (more with Hertz). My points from 3 rentals last week aren't yet posted, but they normally take about 5 working days so I do expect to see them this week some time.

I have sent both an email query as well as Europcars on-line form to claim the missing rentals. I'll see what answer comes back.

Has anybody had their status online upgraded yet for Europcar? Mine is still Privilege Club.

Nope, no email, just keep checking my (husbands) account. From memory, Velocity approved the match and on that day I selected Europcar as the preferred rental provider. Then it took about 10 days to get the 'Invite' email from Europcar, so after a few days, suddenly upgraded today. I think?

Just checked........Privilege EXECUTIVE :p

No email and it wasn't exec this morning (I checked), so today must be the day!

(Thanks Nicole if you are reading this thread ;))

Puskas information tells me one of my bookings won't be counted as it was made (just) before I was a privilege member, but I was still a Europcar member (in whatever they called the previous scheme) so buggered if I know why that booking wouldn't count. Also, as the forth booking was only last Wednesday, it may not have been processed for privilege club yet (even though it shows in the Privilege web page). Maybe they process privilege update at the same time as they do the points transfer (which in the past has been about 5 working days).

Now to apply for the A/Club membership!

I'm still waiting although I'm not overly fussed. I have one booking atm and I made it after I joined privilege. It sounds like i'll get the upgrade even without exec status.

Just checked my Priority Club account and it shows as Platinum (was still club yesterday). Applied a few weeks ago as soon as my DJ WP came through after I requested that on the first day.

Unfortunately 2 weeks to late as I just returned from a trip with 2x IHG hotel stays!

Now at 12 business days for Europcar and still waiting. Have 4 bookings I would like to rebook with the bigger discount :D

You may not have noticed any difference in how they treated you even if it had come through.

No, but the 50% bonus points would've been nice!

To be fair to IHG, we were treated pretty well including an upgrade to a suite at the CP in KUL (we had booked the room type below the suite).

What bigger discount ? I haved Privlige Executive with Europcar and my quotes are significantly higher than using the specials that are open to EVERYONE. Europcar don't offer anything special for stutus members at all. I picked up a car in Sydney yesterday and wasn't offered any upgrade as stated as a benefit. I was greated with the same uninterested, don't care attitude I always get in Sydney. The other benefit is Gold membership with A-Club. I am an A-Club silver already with Advantage Plus and they know nothing about this and have no clue what to do so that is not going to happen either.

I was looking at the privilege page on the Europcar website and as I tend to only rent abroad it says I will get up to 30% discount... If they upgrade me I will be able to check :D
I will take a printout from their own website regarding the Upgrade.

Reminds me of the BA F check-in guy in Sydney asking if I could go in the lounge with my QF Platinum card

Definately take a print out. I just tried a requote for the booking we had for France next year whilst being logged in as Executive membership, the price was much higher!

You could bok through the DJ booking engine. They offer a lowest price guarantee.

The three bookings I have on Europcar Were actually bookings I made on the DJ site and rebooked them on Europcar as it was quite a bit cheaper directly...

Try enforcing the DJ price guarantee. I'd be curious as I asked on another thread what benefit booking through DJ had. I thought we may have just found one, but apparantly not.

I've checked directly on the Europcar site and I got about a 10% disc for being logged on as opposed to not being logged on. This is half the advertised 20% disc, but the wording actually says "up to 20%". I can get 10% for having an AAA club card, but I must admit, the three rentals I've made since converting to Priority membership have all resulted in upgrades. Previously, I can only remember one upgrade in years of renting from Avis, Hertz and Europcar. I've got another three separate bookings shortly, so I'll see how they go.

Now at 18 days waiting for Europcar. Nicole is quiet :D
