If possible, I always try to have HLO only, and I do get anxious about finding space for it in the overhead bin.
Always leaving the club early to board ( even with priority boarding, cause, as we all know....that is not in place or enforced at every gate )
So, how is the space onboard going to be now if people can have 2 bags onboard?
Makes no sense.A sensible decision.
How long before VA fold and match? Hopefully soon.
The weight of the bag should make no difference if people use an appropriate/approved sized bag.Makes no sense.
It was good while they were cracking down as people were worried and checking bags into the hold. Now back to the same chaos we had before where if you board last there's no room as the kitchen sink is in the overhead.
as the kitchen sink is in the overhead
You're assuming they'll continue to weigh. The problem is size and quantity of bags/items.It would have to be within the current size limits of a maximum 7kg item, be one of only two carry-on items and weigh 10kg or less with the total of the two items being 14kg or less.
A 4kg second item would, on average, be considerably smaller than a 7kg second item.

Can't see how all this helps the FA's with the shoulder problems though!
If it were true, I'd have imagined that it would be the headline in most of the articles...
As per posts in this thread those with questionable carry on were checking them instead. So how did the weighing crack-down fix that problem?
Wouldn't worry me I always ask for the premium hand carry tag anyway.Boarding a dash 8 this week the person in front was pulled for weight and measures .... result was 9.8kg and a premium hand luggage tag with a enjoy your fight added for good measure.

Was the bag at or under 7kg?Looks like the weighing of carry on bags continued as I witnessed the pax before me (a QF SG) was asked to put his bag in the baggage sizer frame on my flight to BNE yesterday. His bag fitted the frame (just) and he was allowed to carry it on to the plane.
