How To Search For oneworld Award Availability

Thanks for your response. Booking award flights is a lttle bit like playing chess! I guess I just have to keep trying.

At the moment just found a pair of MIA-BSB seats on the appropriate date with AA. That is not too bad, happy to pay for the short BSB-RIO leg myself. Will see whether available via Qantas.

That was AA flight. Checked BA site, didn't show up. So won't even brother with Qantas!

Looks like they all do these things of reserving award seats for their own members.

Guys,

What's the best way to look up award seats for Qatar DOH - CDG

I am finding QF only shows BA , BA shows nothing, expert flyer doesn't have Qatar and KVS looks to use the BA engine so nothing.

Any ideas

I managed to book 2 J seats from DOH to PER on the date I wanted recently phoning Qantas. I guess you can do this and not pay the points fees - provided you don't complete the booking!

I use BA and it gives QR results. Was actually having a squizz at availability the other day (including QR F availability).

Perhaps there is no QR availability on the days you were searching?

I guess so... nothing on any day F,J or Y

CDG is one of the more difficult places to get to with OW. Have you tried looking for seats to somewhere (reasonably) nearby and then going overland?

I've actually found the opposite to be true. Other entry points like Milan or fra have been harder. There are 3 x flights in and out of cdg to/from Doha a day and I found on at least 2 of those flights on any given day there were f seats available. Maybe just the dates u were looking for have already gone.

CDG is a good alternative port at times for either ow or *A, but as whole-lotta-moxie mentioned, the availability can vary wildly, from open slather to not a single seat for a block of days.

After all, there are no airlines of either alliance which are hubbed at CDG (BA OpenSkies has a hub at ORY, but that doesn't count). This is AF's baby.

LHR has the benefit of more flights but at a cost.

I've found MXP easier than CDG; but I was looking at J rather than F; not sure that makes a difference. Still, if the OP can't find the seat wanted to CDG then they should try and accept whatever alternative is available and work from there. Trains in France and adjacent countries are efficient and can be good value if you are flexible on date and time.

Agree… Just checked every day from 300 days + and nothing for QR so not sure when the release seats from?

I want to thank the OP for this thread.

My wife and I have been looking for a flight for about a week with lots of close calls but no winners. I have amex points that I have to use. We wanted to fly us air. We called us air and found the flight. We then called British air to try to book it. No joy. They said that although us air had seats available, they weren't made available to British air to sell.

This meant we had to buy the tickets for cash and then pay down the card with points, or transfer amex points to spg then to us air. We would have had to transfer 174,800 points the spg way or paid down the card using 138,800.

The obvious decision was made to pay cash. When we went to purchase the tickets, the flight had no availability. I should mention at this point we had about 10 hrs worth of research into it. Flights would have availability and then be gone. We thought we had a way to buy the tickets and then we didn't. At one point us air quoted us 140,000 for the two tickets, it looked like without having a credit card that transferred directly to us air that it was going to cost is a bundle. That was until I found this thread.

Post #1- login into your British air executive acct. choose search using avois points. Pick flight. $22 and 108,000 points later, we have the flight we're looking for.

Thanks!

Is anybody else having trouble getting JAL award search to work? Mine for last few attempts has advised me to call the regional call center for availability?!

Have USDM booking on hold, one return sector missing 2 x J HKG/BNE, found flights on QF & BA, none on Award Nexus or JAL, USAirways don't have them either so my guess is the latter two I searched are more accurate.

Called up again, operator was unhelpful (unlike the last), said not there, will try again later today.

Looking for HKG/BNE with USDM June 26th 2015 any route possible.
