Points were in my HSBC account 1 day after 2 month period... they have offered me 1000 points to settle...
Doesn't really make any difference - as they will sweep across to Qantas on the 23rd.
But - 1000 points for jam.

This card is a coughking nightmare. I've had it less than two days, literally been activated about 20 hours ago and it's already been frozen for 'suspicious activities' twice..

How dare I pay my phone bill and fill up my car with petrol.

Welcome to HSBC. Take the points and walk away as quickly as possible.

No issues with HSBC here. They're very easy to deal with compared to the incompetence over at Macquarie

And they certainly aren't as bad as Citibank.

But as my detailed experiences in this thread show they are in the habit of breaching their contract with you.

To me, Citibank were alright until they devalued their rewards program without notice. Every year, without fail, had my annual fee (signature) waived with extra points given as an incentive to keep me as a customer.
Have been banking with HSBC for a decade so hope they don't give me grief.

HSBC, I gave you benefit of the doubt. I assumed you may finally have things sorted given the number of complaints (although hoped you didn't). I'm now 2 months + 1 day post minimum spend. Letter has been written, printed and will be posted.

Hope you indicated you wanted your annual fee refunded in your letter :)

Strange, didn't have the negative experiences described here. Signup was a bit of a nightmare, made more insulting by the fact that I have bank accounts with them. But the points appeared in my (HSBC) account as soon as I hit the minimum spend, just waiting for them to sweep.

Then time to cancel and move on! Almost wish I had the chance to get that fee refunded though....

I didn't. Essentially I left it open to how they would remedy their breach of contract.

The 60k bonus was credited to my account on the 21/1 but the description was "HSBC CREDIT CARD 20JAN17". My 2 months post minimum spend was 19/1/17. I'm still intending to pursue them as if my payment was a day late they'd sling me with charges and interest.

Received end of statement points from HSBC despite cancelling weeks ago:

Just for giggles...
Hello xx_XX.
Upon checking my account this morning - I find that the 1000 bonus points promised have failed to post to my account with the sign on award.
I find this again unacceptable - HSBC is clearly in breach to the Terms and conditions with the timeliness of awarding the bonus points - and Now I find the supposed compensation has not occurred.
Please refund my annual fee immediately.
If I was one day late with my repayments, you would have no hestitation in charging me the full amount of interest - just as you are allowed to do under the T's and C's of the card.
If further compensation is not offered and awarded within the next 7 days, I will take the matter further.
Regards

Check your reward points are being correctly added up mine are not

What was the problem?

Were you aware of the following:

'Earn 1 Qantas Point2 per $1 spent up to $2,500 per statement period on eligible purchases made in Australia and overseas. Every $1 spent thereafter will earn 0.5 Qantas Points'?

Dave Griffin have you heard anything back from HSBC? My letter is dated 20/1/17 but posted on the 23/1. I haven't received anything in response yet. As a broader question, how long should I wait until I send a second letter?

See message number 78. I waited 10 days to send the follow up letter. Then jumped on Facebook and gave them a big hurry up. I'd suggest the same. They don't like it when you tell the world about their poor customer service.

It took about 10 working days for them to respond generically and another 2 working days to provide compensation.

My error did not realise points cap
