Cancellation letter signed and sent!
Welcome to HSBC. Take the points and walk away as quickly as possible. This card is a coughking nightmare. I've had it less than two days, literally been activated about 20 hours ago and it's already been frozen for 'suspicious activities' twice..
How dare I pay my phone bill and fill up my car with petrol.
No issues with HSBC here. They're very easy to deal with compared to the incompetence over at Macquarie
And they certainly aren't as bad as Citibank.
But as my detailed experiences in this thread show they are in the habit of breaching their contract with you.
HSBC, I gave you benefit of the doubt. I assumed you may finally have things sorted given the number of complaints (although hoped you didn't). I'm now 2 months + 1 day post minimum spend. Letter has been written, printed and will be posted.
Just as a data point, i didn't specifically ask for a refund but still got one.Hope you indicated you wanted your annual fee refunded in your letter

Check your reward points are being correctly added up mine are not
Dave Griffin have you heard anything back from HSBC? My letter is dated 20/1/17 but posted on the 23/1. I haven't received anything in response yet. As a broader question, how long should I wait until I send a second letter?
What was the problem?
Were you aware of the following:
