Signup was a bit of a nightmare, made more insulting by the fact that I have bank accounts with them.

I often wonder if the bank has little to do with the actual approval & it is left pretty much entirely to Visa/Mastercard to decide if you get a card or not.

Perhaps someone reading this thread can shed more information on this?

Second letter sent after no response. Demanding refund of annual fee, additional points for inconvenience and threat of contacting financial services ombudsman if I don't receive a timely response.

I lost patience for letters (why don't they have secure online mail). I called them and after some back and forward to the manager I had my annual fee refunded.

Quick update - turns out that as well as having my annual fee refunded I was also given an additional 1000 bonus points.

There's a 10% discount for Qatar Airways if you use this card. Too bad I only found out about the promotion a week after I made my booking and they can't apply the discount after purchase! How annoying!!!

Signed up for this card a month ago and also signed up the boss at the same time. Both applications approved and no request for income evidence on either app.
Minimum spend met and bonus points were swept last night on the first statement sweep (month1 )
Online banking is cough but the points are good

Just got approved for this card today. Applied 24/4 - almost 2 weeks turnaround. Had to supply a pay slip. Somehow they duplicated my online application - the reference number I was given was given a denial when using the online 'application status check' (argh.. panic stations!) - but I was given a new reference number that I could only check by calling, it didnt work online.

Now to line up the next one...

2 weeks turnaround?! Just as bad as Bankwest. Good to know the timeframe, I've been waiting for 5 business days to date. I've been giving my credit file a fair bit of a whack lately so to be honest I'm expecting it to be approved, but surprises do happen.

Horrendous. It gets better too - they not only duplicated the application, but duplicated the bloody credit file hit! Beyond pissed.

Going to wait til the card shows up before raising hell - I'm so conscious of the credit file hits, this feels like they have just ripped me off a bonus point churn!!

More than 'feels like'. They've definitely had an impact on your ability to churn. I'd be onto them immediately about this.

Perhaps just logging the issue with veda directly who will see the duplication and remove it from your file. Its quite a simple and elegant process.

Mistakes happen. It's easily fixed. No need to get excited.

Missed a call from HSBC yesterday, they left a message to call back on the 13 number, Monday to Friday, urgh. So I'll call them tomorrow if they don't call me first. The online application still says "processing"

Sounds almost exactly like my experience with them. Used them to get the sign on bonus then cancelled as soon as possible!
