Hyatt offering status matches via Twitter

My Hhonors Diamond was matched! Needless to say, I'm pretty happy.

I've never really looked at the Hyatt program so I think I have a little research to do.
Particularly the best places to use my Suite Upgrades.

I've had Diamond (from the Elite Tier offer 2015), expiring in Feb 2016, with some USA stays, but haven't really been able to make the best use of it in Australia. I wish that there were more Hyatts here.

Within Australia, locations are limited to Canberra, Melbourne (2) and Perth. Sydney doesn't do DSU as far as I know. Hyatt family hotels are across parts of the USA, but not on the same scale as Hilton. Also Europe, Asia, etc.


Edit: The entry level (base grade) suite needs to be available for the period that you are looking at, in order to use the DSU

FWIW - I've just been booking rooms for Paris early January - this is PH rate, starting at the cheapest rooms.

We stayed here in 2009 on a free night i won and were comped a suite upgrade and didn't want to leave the room! WOW!! Some Hyatt hotels are exempt from the suite upgrade and you need to check if the PH Paris is one of them

Just sent an email & DM on Twitter. Fingers cross as I'm Hilton Diamond + IHG Gold Elite, I have 11 nights in NYC coming up with Hyatt so the status match would be brilliant.

Anyone know if you have to book direct to get the Suite upgrade? I booked via hotels.com i think.

I was offered only GP Platinum for IHG Platinum. My SPG/Marriott and other big chain statuses are not good enough. Applied Saturday night, U.S. time. I won't bother with acceptance.

The only real guaranteed match seems to be to SPG Platinum - everything looks to be hit and miss. And if you've just sent your request in, you may be waiting a while.....

Yes, that's right, Hyatt platinum doesn't provide much. Diamond is the way to go, with breakfast and lounge access where available. And the 4 x DSU.

I'd say so. I'm still a little hopeful. My screenshots were submitted pretty early Sat, including one showing my 7 figure points balance. If I'm only matched to Plat it's no biggie as I've re-qualified HH Diamond already for 2016 and I'll just keep my stays with them.
Doing quite nicely at Hilton SYD now with a 5/5 Suite/Relaxation Room upgrade rate over the past 6 weeks or so.

I called on Saturday morning after submitting on Friday night..After being put through very understanding and friendly agents (4 of them) finally arrived at the lady in charge who rather rudely told me about 5 times that "Sir you'll just need to be patient like everyone else." Which I found rather comical as I simply asked if they could look and see if I'd even likely receive the match...

From what I've heard, all applicants with HH gold+diamond before 10am Saturday central (US) time will be given diamond.

Your informant/s might not have it 100% correct jack - scroll back post #63 and check response from Hyatt - HH Diamond to Hyatt Platinum.

Sigh! Discovered this only after the cut off time for HHonors but didn't think I'll be staying at Hyatt anytime soon. Anyway, it turns out Grand Hyatt is cheaper tomorrow than both Hiltons in Melbourne and guess where I'll be staying. Kicking myself for missing the boat on this deal.

MrsDaver6 was offered Plat from HH diamond. Plat really is pretty poor and I can't see why you would select staying at a Hyatt as a plat over HH as a diamond (unless of course you had no other option).
