Thanks JohnK and Andye. Still waiting for 2 stays to come through onto the dashboard, strange as they appear in my account but not on dashboard.

I decided against the extra drink because 190++ baht for 1 beer was crazy when across the street I could get the same thing for 70 baht

I was sent the promo offer from IHG so I suspect they simply forgot to write Asia/Pacific which seems to be the common grouping.

My first bonus points took 3 wks. Stay on 1 Jun qualified 2x 5k. Appeared in the dashboard after about 2wks and finally posted 22 Jul as 'activity'. You can't see them in the app until they land as 'activity'.

I've always had lousy offers with these ...

This time I've got a 'stay once for 5,000' & I note the 'stay in June for 5,000' at the bottom of the page.

This totals a reasonable offer for me this time ( just ! ) ....

Taking the kids to VIVID in Sydney this Friday night.

Booked a standard twin at Sydney IC for $208. WITH BREAKFAST.

Been upgraded to Deluxe Eastern Harbour View.

Remains to be seen, if the Sydney IC will FULLY honour the 'IHG Rewards Weekend Special' of free breakfast for myself and two children booked into the room.

If all goes well, I'll be getting:

Room upgrade.
Comp. bottle of wine/ fruit bowl/ comp bottled water/ free inhouse movie etc. ( as per AMB privileges )
Free breakfast for the three persons booked into room.
Total of over 11,100 Reward Points ( 10,000 in Bonuses + the regular for the paid tariff )
( and the pleasure of seeing my kids have a great night out )

All for just a bit over $200.

( I could have gone to either of the closest Holiday Inns, but the convenience of the IC is worth the little bit extra )

All the points I was expecting came through ( rather quickly too ).

No prob with free brekky, and all AMB benefits ( late check out; bottle of wine / fruit bowl / water +++ etc.)

I'm having a bit of a hard time with this promo. I had a stay booked at the Palazzo in Las Vegas, an Intercontinental Alliance resort. I called up before my stay to check that incidentals would qualify the 'eat drink earn' part of my promo. The gentleman on the phone confirmed it would.

Got my points come through, everything but the incidental. Called up and emailed the bill through. Stay was adjusted and received the following email.

"Please be advised that we have already adjusted the stay in your account for the incidental charges that you for the stay in InterContinental Affiliate Resort The Palazzo last xx_XX for XX nights. Please allow to 3 weeks for the update on the dashboard for the 'Eat, Drink and Earn' offer."

So four weeks have passed and I call up. They acknowledge the problem and credited the 40 something thousand points. So it all worked out in the end...

No, the 40k points was by qualifying for the accelerate bonus'.

Just so everyone knows, incidental does not qualify for points earn with Intercontinental Alliance, also, you get a flat 2000 points, no matter how many nights for your stay.

That might answer my question. We spent > $100 on food at Syd Intercontinental which should have cleared up the last part of my accelerate offer. I've done the stays, I now just need $50 on food? Might go get breakky at the Crowne in Akl without staying . That should do the trick to get the last few points needed for Accelerate??

Unfortunately, points are only earnt on F&B if you stay

Hmm. OK let me clear a few things up for you.

Food and drink spending at the Intercontinental will qualify for incidental spend towards your accelerate challenges. Be aware this is in USD though.

You do not qualify for incidental spending unless you are staying at the hotel. I repeat, you cannot just have a beer and show your card. It must be charged back to a room.

If you spent the money and it didn't show up, you will have to do something like what I did. Which is call up, explain the situation and then email them a copy of the bill.

My reply to quote buttons aren't working but I'll add that bit to my info sheet about no accrual when not staying.

i think we took off some of the incidentals off the main bill and paid for those as didn't want them on work receipt. It would probably be a bit painful for the hotel if I called and asked them for a receipt of those incidentals paid separately, it also had my partners breakfast on there. I should keep those in future.
