IHG Hotels that recognise status

They obviously value you more than me!

I'm on iPhone - what is your IHG status?

(Me = Amb Plat), booked using priority privilege 25% off Fully flex cert. Note cert not retained ("special offer" at checkin) so can use again!

Amb plat, using the special offer as well!

(I do stay there a few time a year, so that may make a difference. I reread the card and it was a welcome back without reference to status)

Was it this weekend? Did you get the upgrade and that's why there wasn't one for me! Ha ha!! :-)

Very decent offering by HI Perth City Centre.

I think some of it may be the 'executive' offering, but not sure exactly what that gives....(free Internet, but the 'executive' inclusions are a bit variable in HI's across the country...)

HI Brisbane (RIP) did offer to swap the bottle of wine for a bucket (think it was 4) of crown lagers on at least one stay of mine.
But very impressed with the Perth HI offering.

We also stayed here 1 night, Mon 28th May as the Hilton Perth was too expensive that night...used 25K PC pts and I have to say the bed was more comfortable than the Hilton's and we too received all the goodies mentioned above:)

Crowne plaza Glasgow.
Advance saver basic room.

Upgraded to club floor with lounge access for this little plat duck.

IC Singapore
Booked: Deluxe Room
Received: Club Intercontinental Room
Rate: S$254++ (AAA rate - not asked for ID at check-in)

At reception, taken straight up to the club lounge for check-in and as RA given the option of a Club room or Shophouse Room.
I quite liked the Oriental design of the rooms and the bathroom was large with a separate shower.
Lounge was a bit stuffy and not a huge selection of food during the afternoon or evening.
Breakfast could be taken in the lounge or restaurant. Staff in the restaurant were fantastic.

Gift was a little ceramic spoon, 4 x bottles water and fruit (plus mini bar of course
;))

I've had a genuinely weird series of emails from the IC Hanoi. I'm booked into a deluxe room for next week, and have now had six - SIX - emails from someone in marketing suggesting and then nearly demanding i upgrade to a Club Room.

Sick of it, I pointed out that I should get a free upgrade as Platinum anyway. They replied to say that this was 'only if it happened to be available', and suggesting that I book it (seventh time now!!) to make sure.

Has anyone else had this remarkably high pressure sales from IHG?
